    Field Officer - Baringo County

    • FSK wishes to recruit a competent, born again christian, qualified and result oriented person to fill the position of a Field Officer who will be responsible in coordinating field operations under the Revitalizing Lake Baringo and Bogoria's Ecosystem: A Collaborative Approach to Ecosystem Restoration Project. The successful officer will be based in Marigat, Baringo County. He/she will report to the Project Manager and will undertake the following key

    responsibilities.
    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Conduct regular monitoring to ensure that community-driven projects implemented by groups/ CBOs achieve expected outputs, outcomes, and results.
    • Provide support to Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) in proposal development and guidance during project implementation.
    • Ensure that CBOs/group proposals are developed according to the required donor format.
    • Coordinate project activities at the Lake Bogoria landscape among CBOs, other stakeholders working in the area, and the County Government.
    • Facilitate the establishment and/or strengthening of a multi-stakeholder platform (MSP) focused on governance, leadership, effectiveness, and sustainability in the landscape.
    • Liaise with the County Government to align project activities with County priorities and as stipulated in the project documentation.
    • Liaise with respective County Government departments on the status of the project implementation.
    • Identify opportunities for synergy with other Development Partners, County Government and National Government projects and programs, and members of the multi-stakeholder platform (MSP) in the Lake Bogoria landscape.
    • Support in development, review, and updating of participatory community-based monitoring tools.
    • Prepare and submit narrative reports on a quarterly/annual basis for the landscape with input from stakeholders as per agreed-upon reporting frameworks and tools.
    • Support in knowledge management, documentation of success stories and lessons learnt.
    • Organize regular visibility events such as eco-fairs, exhibitions, and Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials.

    Required Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

    • University degree in Agriculture, Development Studies, Environmental Management, Food Security or related field.
    • Minimum of at least 2 years’ experience in a similar position working in ASAL or project management in an NGO setting
    • Experience in project coordination or management, particularly in multi-stakeholder environments.
    • Previous experience in livelihood and resilience projects, able to work with minimum supervision, and deliver results.
    • Familiarity with community development approaches and participatory methodologies.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Proposal development and quality report writing skills would be an added advantage.
    • Ability to ride a motorbike and possession of a valid motorbike license would be an added advantage
