    Call for: Chiefs of Party for Anticipated USAID Projects

    Chief Of Party (COP) Experience
    Our aim is to build strong relationships, fostering partnerships with local organizations and stakeholders, in anticipation of future opportunities with potential Chiefs of Party (COPs) for upcoming USAID multi-year, multi-million-dollar international development projects. By engaging with local partners, we seek to enhance project sustainability, cultural relevance, and community impact, ensuring a holistic approach to development initiatives. As such, we actively seek to connect with professionals with outstanding leadership, strategic thinking, organizational and representational skills. We are eager to hear from senior leaders with:

    • 8 – 10 years’ experience leading project design and delivery within fragile or conflict context.
    • Demonstrable experience leading USAID donor funded projects, preferably commercial contracts.
    • Experience managing consortia of international or local partners.

    Roving Service Mapping Officer

    Job Overview

    • IRC is seeking a Service Mapping Officer, based in Hagadera under the direct supervision of the Senior Editorial Officer and will support the Signpost teams in Hagadera, Nairobi, and Kakuma refugee camps on a roving basis. The Service Mapping Officer will ensure the service mapping on assistance and services provided by local, national, International National Organizations (INGOs) and United Nations agencies is collected, updated, uploaded on Julisha.info and shared with the teams in Nairobi, Kakuma and Hagadera to disseminate regular up-to-date and accurate information. This will include the design and implementation of referral and service mapping guidance and contribution to report writing, and capacity-building activities as requested.

    Major Responsibilities

    • Identify service providers through field visits, information from field teams, meetings, working groups, desk research, social media, and surveys.
    • Create services destined for a map with pins and list of services.
    • Collaborate with the Signpost Product manager, senior editorial officer and the Signpost service mapping working group to improve features and identify bugs/issues with the service mapping Content Management System.
    • Provide support to the moderators and community incentives on quality referrals and ensure regular follow up on referrals in collaboration with protection staff.
    • Regularly update information in online and offline service maps, referral directory and share with moderators, senior editorial officers, other IRC and Humanitarian Aid workers/organizations.
    • Update referral pathways regularly, connect with local, national, International National Organizations (INGOs) and United Nations agencies on referral pathways.
    • Supervise referrals, develop, and implement action plans to address emerging referral gaps to improve capacity of staff to conduct safe referrals to relevant service providers.
    • Contribute to the design and implementation of information campaigns based on needs.
    • Equip Julisha.Info moderators with updated information on available humanitarian assistance, services, referrals, and emerging information.
    • Contribute to report writing, proposal and content development in line with Julisha.Info objectives.
    • Where feasible contribute to content creation for Julisha.info platform.

    Key Working Relationships
    Position Reports to: Senior Editorial Officer, Hagadera
    Position directly supervises: N/A
    Indirect Reporting: Protection Manager
    Other Internal and/or external contacts: Regular coordination with IRC protection team, Julisha.Info teams in Nairobi, Kakuma and Hagadera, other IRC sectors (Health, Nutrition, Women’s Economic and Empowerment, Economic Recovery and Development) and with other humanitarian actors and partners.
    Minimum Qualifications

    • Approximately two years of relevant experience, including two years implementing humanitarian protection programs.
    • At least one-year meaningful experience in web content management; writing or publishing.

    Demonstrated Skills And Competencies

    • Report writing.
    • Web content management
    • Partner engagement, facilitation and training skills.
    • Working with forced migrants (refugees, asylum seekers) and refugee hosting communities is an added advantage.
    • Experience in protection work especially referral pathways and partner networking.

    Education

    • Diploma/bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. (e.g., Communications, Public Relations, Social work, Sociology, Psychology)

    Language Skills

    • Advanced English language skills, oral and written.

    Preferred Experience & Skills

    • Humanitarian coordination for managing service maps and referrals.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clarity and conciseness in all communications.
    • Strong organizational and partner management skills; ability to prioritize and deliver on time.
    • Strong analytic problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work both independently and in a dynamic, cross-functional team.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with partners and in a team at all levels.

    Working Environment

    • Position is based in Dadaab with occasional travel to Kakuma, Lodwar and Nairobi.

    Regional Partnership Advisor Asia

    Specific Responsibilities

    • Ensure country offices and regional programs have the right structures and processes in place to deliver on partnership commitments and Strategy Action Plan targets.
    • Support country offices to design and develop management structures and tools to facilitate country offices to implement a one-IRC approach to partnership through supporting partnership working group, SMT-level decision-making, and integrating PEERS and Project Cycle Meeting (PCM) routines.
    • Support country offices to develop and/or refine partnership strategies to align and guide progress towards partnership goals, and to leverage adequate support from across the organization for successful implementation of these strategies.
    • Design, develop and guide country office adoption of models for meaningful partner participation in key decision-making processes, including strategy development, program design and management, collaborative project budget development and feedback management, etc.
    • Work with country offices to establish effective feedback mechanisms for understanding partner perspectives, and ensuring accountability to that feedback
    • Serve as a resource for country and regional teams to support optimizing operational or finance business processes to reduce blockers to achieving the IRC’s partnership ambitions
    • Actively engage with country office and regional management to foster the collaborative and open culture necessary to partner as equals, including through the direction and tone the SMT and modeling of partnership principles.
    • Build capacity of country and regional teams in administering effective partnerships and for strengthening approaches to capacity sharing with local partners
    • Strengthen the capacity of country teams and regional technical and functional leads in the use of PEERs for developing and managing principled collaboratie partnerships, including conducting PEERs trainings and coaching, guiding and mentoring partnership leads and partnership-facing staff in each country program.
    • Provide partnership support to country office in development business development strategies, teaming approaches, and collaborative program design with partners for specific opportunities.
    • Lead cross-country learning and sharing of best practices around partnerships and develop a regional partnership Community of Practice, and contribute experiences from Asia into the IRC organizational evolution of our partnership approaches, strategy and PEERs.
    • Foster and promote effective capacity sharing approaches across CPs, including effective project support across all organizational functions, and ensuring that we are understanding and leveraging opportunities to learn from partners
    • Collaborate with relevant technical advisors, regional and country colleagues as needed to assure guidance and capacity building support is available to partners for technical implementation and program quality.
    • Strengthen, and where needed, define processes for how the regional level support functions contribute to CP level application of PEERs and to the partnership processes at country level
    • Grow the number and quality of strategic partnerships across the region by guiding country offices on strategic partnership engagement and through building strong networks among partners at the regional level
    • Support CPs to analyze the roles, capacities and strategies of local civil society, government and private sector actors, to define IRC’s role based on its added value to local actors and systems (asking ‘why not partner’) and guide country teams in fostering long-term relationships with key strategic partners
    • Guide technical and partnership leads to identify and establish strategic partnership relationships with civil society organizations, government entities and private sector actors, as well as with networks, based on the stakeholder analysis
    • Grow the IRC’s regional partnership network to leverage for impact at country level and to align proactive partnering with program development priorities across the region.
    • Collaborate across functional areas, in particular with Regional Emergencies Director and Regional GEDI Director to promote greater partnership readiness at the country and regional levels for both emergency response as well as to identify and promote greater partnerships with feminist and women-led organizations.

    Key Working Relationships

    • Reports to the Deputy Regional Director and the CRRD Partnerships Director in a Management-in-Partnership matrix arrangement; Significant engagement with: CDs, DDP, Partnership leads in each country, DDOs and DDFs, TAs, DAM and RVP, and regional functional Directors

    Professional Qualifications And Requirements

    • Minimum of five years’ experience in partnership, capacity sharing, organizational learning and/or related work required, and progressive managerial and/or advisory experience strongly preferred. Strong familiarity, working experience and lived experience in Asia strongly preferred.
    • Degrees in non-profit management, business management, organizational development, international development or another related field, an asset.
    • Thorough knowledge of best practices in partnership and capacity sharing, with demonstrated experience in integrating this theme into programming.
    • Familiarity with key institutions and donor agencies in capacity sharing.
    • Experienced in setting up and using monitoring and evaluation systems for partnerships.
    • Demonstrated ability to transfer knowledge to diverse audiences through participatory adult training, mentoring, distance learning, and other formal and non-formal methods. Strong workshop design and facilitation skills.
    • Collaborative, team management style; ability to work well in diverse, multi-cultural team settings.
    • Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills.
    • Skilled at persuading and leading through influence, negotiation and coaching.
    • Significant capacity for strategic thinking and systems development.
    • Fluency in English required.
    • Must be willing to travel throughout the region approximately one-third of the time, occasionally at short notice and sometimes under strenuous conditions.

    Nutritionist

    • Working under the guidance and supervision of the Nutrition Manager, the Nutritionist will be directly responsible for the day-to-day coordination and project oversight with the MOH in all identified implementation sites within West Pokot.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Coordination and implementation of the CMAM Model and working with the nutrition manager and Sub County Nutrition Coordinator to ensure that the CMAM program is running smoothly.
    • In liaison with the supply chain department, plan and procure nutrition program supplies & services in accordance to the developed Procurement plans in Integra.
    • Together with the county teams Coordinate the day-to-day implementation of CMAM, family MUAC screening at household levels through community health workers.
    • Capacity build MoH staff on Simplified approaches, CMAM Model, Family MUAC and any Community based intervention in line with the MoH and WHO standards.
    • Support Joint reviews of CMAM data with the S/CHMT on a Monthly basis.
    • Document findings and share with the Nutrition Manager on a timely basis.
    • Participate in coordination meetings at the County and sub-county level with the MOH and Partners including NTWG, CNTF and any other Nutrition Forums.
    • Support development of S/County work plans with the S/CHMTs and schedule joint supervisions to enhance quality programming.
    • Ensure the expenditure is as stipulated in the budget lines and strict adherence to the budget limits.
    • Provide technical oversight to the County on comprehensive maternal infant and young child nutrition program (MIYCN) Baby Friendly Community initiative (BFCI),Family MUAC approaches.
    • Compile and submit donor and IRC Nutrition Program weekly, biweekly, and monthly reports of all the activities implemented,
    • Attend & represent the Nutrition program in MOH meetings, CNTFs, Surveys and DQAs.
    • Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Diploma in Food, Nutrition and Dietetics from a recognized University.
    • Must be a registered nutrition or dietitian KNDI.

    Required Experience & Competencies

    • Minimum 3 years’ work experience in emergency community nutrition and implementation.
    • Experience in maternal infant and young nutrition with strong CMAM, BFHI & BFCI approaches.
    • Experience in nutrition survey and assessments.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong report writing and team working skills.
    • Knowledge in computer packages and basic analysis skills.
    • Ability to work in hardship areas. (previous experience in a camp setting will be an added advantage)
    • Flexible and positive personality.
    • Strong planning and implementation capacity.
