    Assistant Manager, Credit Reporting and Control

    PURPOSE:

    The incumbent is responsible for portfolio reporting within the credit risk function of the Bank at portfolio level in compliance with credit policy and CBK prudential guidelines.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Supporting in preparing statutory reports in utmost accuracy for regulatory submissions within stipulated timelines and ensuring nil non-compliance with regulatory reporting requirements;
    • Supporting in ensuring all credit related GLs are reconciled and tying to the related listings monthly.
    • Preparation of other scheduled external reports to DFIs, CRBs and partnered Guarantee Funds.
    • Performing analysis of risk classification of loans advances and computing the required general and specific provisioning of the portfolio in line with CBK Prudential Guidelines;
    • Preparation of any strategic management reports for risk management and decision making.
    • Supporting facilitation of seamless audit processes and co-ordination of all requirements within credit department.
    • Supporting in management of the Convene meetings software including updating Agenda items and all relevant papers for CRMC and ensuring timely publication of the papers in the software as well as assisting in coordinating papers for BCC meetings.
    • Supporting on IFRS9 related reporting and participation in modeling of the same routinely for an all-round perspective and incase of any need for succession in the absence of the dedicated resource.
    • preparation Adhoc reporting requirements from external Stakeholders, i.e. CBK, KBA, DFIs, Guarantee Funds and any other strategic partners.
    • Supporting on any Bank project relating to credit reporting aspects.
    • Preparation of all required MIS – Analytics and Dashboards.

    PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

    Academic Qualifications  

    • Bachelor’s degree in any field from a recognized institution.

    Experience

    • At least 3 years’ experience within credit reporting lines.

    Generic Competencies

    • Technical skills with high proficiency in Microsoft excel;
    • Ability to communicate;
    • Report writing skills; and
    • Numeric skills.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
    • Excellent time management skills; and
    • Good planning and organization skills

    Manager - Credit Reporting & Control

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Preparing statutory reports in utmost accuracy for regulatory submissions within stipulated timelines and ensuring nil non-compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
    • Ensuring all credit related GLs are reconciled and aligned to the related listings monthly.
    • Preparation of other scheduled/adhoc external reports to DFIs, CRBs, KBA and other stakeholders.
    • Performing analysis/review of risk classification of loans advances and computing the required general and specific provisioning of the portfolio in line with CBK Prudential Guidelines.
    • Facilitating any required strategic management reports for risk management and decision making.
    • Supporting facilitation of seamless audit processes by co-ordination of all requirements within credit department.
    • Preparation of Internal reports to Departmental units and management accurately and within the agreed timelines.
    • Supporting in co-ordination of CRMC/BCC papers, preparation of the Agenda and circulation of Matters Arising from previous meetings for input by all relevant stakeholders.
    • Preparation and modelling of IFRS9 numbers, validating the ECL results and analyzing impacts.
    • Monitor and report loan portfolio performance and trends to provide insight to business teams and management.
    • Tracking of credit policy requirements against internal and regulatory limits and reporting any breaches or exceptions to management.
    • Providing input in the review and update of the credit reporting related policies and guidelines.
    • Supporting any Bank project relating to credit reporting aspects.
    • Supporting in the Credit Department Budgetary process.
    • Presentation of all required MIS – Analytics and Dashboards.
    • Supporting in execution of tasks within the unit in liaison with the other team members and as assigned by the line manager.

    PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

    Academic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in any field from a recognized institution.
    • Qualification in any data analytics course will be an added advantage.

    Experience

    • 5 years banking experience with at least 2-3 years’ within credit reporting lines.
    • Well versed with CBK Prudential Guidelines relating to Asset Classification, knowledge of relevant bank processes, policies and procedures

    • Report writing skills; and
    • Numeric skills.
