    Accident & Emergency Coordinator

    Main Duties

    •  Providing Emergency care to patients attending the A & E unit
    •  Arranging and managing the A & E Medical officers Rota
    •  Overall management of the department (doctors, nurses, support staff)
    •  Organizing & Chairing monthly A & E Meetings
    •  Draws up and reviews policies and procedures to govern the A & E department and circulates them for approval
    •  Liaising with Hospital management about the functions of the department
    •  Attending management meetings and making reports on issues that require input from other departmental heads
    •  Supervising all Medical Officers in the section
    •  Ensuring that Hospital policies and administrative regulations are known and understood by A & E staff
    •  Organizing continuous medical training for A & E staff
    •  Carrying out performance appraisals for A & E department staff
    •  Ensuring the competence and efficiency of staff in the department in terms of knowledge, skills and attitude
    •  In liaison with the HR department, ensuring that staffing requirements are fully met and staff welfare, training and development are well managed
    •  Creating a work environment that fosters a high degree of personal integrity, team spirit and outstanding work standards
    •  Making follow-up on complaints received from patients in the department
    •  Ensuring proper handling of emergency cases
    •  Participating in quality improvement initiatives within the department and providing reports as required
    •  Any other duty assigned

    Required Qualifications for the Position

    •  MBChB
    •  Relevant CPD courses e.g. Life support certification
    •  Registered with KMPDB with a valid Practice License
    •  Minimum 2 years as a Medical Officer
    •  Experience in managing a busy A&E setting
    •  Ability to train & develop a dynamic team
    •  Supervisory/Leadership experience
