Assistant Director (Diaspora Affairs, Internship, Mentoring and Volunteerism) at Makueni County Public Service Board

Duties and Responsibilities                                                                                

• Assist in Development and execution of the overall strategy, policies and laws in alignment with the overall organizational strategy;
• Support, supervise and coordinate the directorate activities including staff and partners;
• Organize recruitment, orientation and training workshops for interns and attachees;
• Organize regular mentorship forums and career development workshops for interns;
• Support in Opening Diaspora Chapters and creating channels for Diaspora Engagement;
• Management of data, information and communication on interns, attachees, volunteers and Makueni diaspora;
• Coordinate, facilitate and manage publicity on internship and attachment, mentoring and volunteerism activities;
• Undertake research, surveys, knowledge management and information sharing on internships, mentorship and volunteerism;
• Undertake Information management concerning the directorate; and
• Any other duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor

Requirements for Appointment

• A Degree in Political Science, International Relations, Public Administration, Business management, Commerce, Diplomacy, Development Studies or Social Sciences;
• Master’s degree in any of the above courses;
• Fifteen (15) years’ relevant experience
• Training in Senior Management in a Government recognized institution is must;
• Experience in the areas of diplomacy, democracy, good governance, preferably in a regional or international working environment is an added advantage
