Bariatric Nurse at Nairobi Bariatric Center

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Bariatric Nurse at Nairobi Bariatric Center. The Bariatric Nurse will be responsible for patient care, assisting with procedures like the Gastric Balloon insertion, removals, and endoscopies in the Endoscopic unit, ensuring the endoscopic unit is in stellar condition, providing 24/7 support to surgical patients post surgery in the event of any questions, and working closely with the medical team to ensure the highest level of care for patients. This also includes ensuring strict follow ups at specific intervals and maintaining very accurate records for the smooth functioning of the team.

Qualifications

• Experience in bariatric, endoscopic or surgical nursing
• Experience managing endoscopic units is a plus, and assisting endoscopic procedures
• Knowledge of weight loss procedures such as the Gastric Balloon, Gastric Sleeve, and Gastric Bypass
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
• Patient-centered care approach
• Current nursing license in Kenya
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Experience in counseling or psychotherapy is a plus
