    Business Development Manager – Graduate Programs

    JOB PURPOSE:

    To market and sell Graduate Programmes in liaison with the Head of Business Development while building and cultivating sustainable key relationships with potential public sector and private sector partners, nationally and internationally. The ideal candidate would need to have considerable experience in business development, developing training solutions, market intelligence, and solution selling.

    MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Lead Generation: Working with the business development team to carry out sales and marketing activities, identifying and following up on sales leads including marketing letters aimed at generating more business opportunities for growth and development.
    • County and Regional expansion: Identify and attend marketing and sales activities to promote SBS brand visibility and seek new business opportunities.
    • Client Relationship Management: Developing and maintaining relationships with new and existing clients, developing industry links so that they continue to use SBS as their knowledge partner in transforming African leaders. Continually create ways to increase customer experience and deepen client/partner relationships and maintain lasting client and partner relationships.
    • Networking and Brand awareness activities: Identify and attend networking activities and events that promote SBS brand visibility and enhance interactions with business leaders, in liaison with the marketing department.
    • Initiate the design of marketing communication materials such as brochures, adverts, and e-invites in liaison with the Marketing Department
    • Client Database Management: maintain and keep updated records of the clientele information in a database.
    • Revenue Targets: Ensure you meet the set revenue targets within stipulated financial and budgeting timelines.
    • Debt Management: Collect all academic program fees as per approved financial payment plans.
    • Cost and Budget Management: Managing the budget lines associated with the programs you supervise.
    • Annual budgets: Submit to the senior manager annual budgets within stipulated deadlines
    • New Program design: Participate in the drive to identify, propose, and design new programs in liaison with Academic Directors.
    • Attend Opening and closing sessions: Be involved in opening and closing sessions as well as orientations of programs. Attend class sessions at suitable times to support the programs and ensure participants and students are settled and to provide any further support as may be required.
    • Reports: Prepare and present reports on the progress of the Graduate Programs business development team, progress review meetings with clients as well as client reports on work in progress.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    The post holder will be required to have and demonstrate evidence of the following qualifications, attributes, and skills:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related area. Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
    • Minimum 5 years relevant working experience in business development with proven experience in sales and managing client relations.
    • Diploma in Marketing or CIM will be an added advantage
    • Experience in engagement of c-suite clients.
    • Good research, planning and reporting skills. Excellent business communication and etiquette skills with a flair for pitching.
    • Ability to analyse data from various sources including a thorough understanding of how business works and where opportunities lie.
