Business Systems Analyst at PACIS Insurance

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

• Reporting to the Assistant ICT Manager – Business Applications, the Business Systems Analyst is responsible for providing first line technical support for business applications, improvements of operational processes, Software development and maintenance of innovative solutions for business applications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•  Provide first line technical support on business applications and databases.
•  Ensure data integrity on our systems including ensuring proper data capturing across business applications.
•  Develop full cycle application and process automation system as per business requirements.
•  Develop APIs on business applications that can integrate with digital solutions and third- party platforms.
•  Offer training to end users on new systems and updated products.
•  Provide quality assurance as pertains technology on turnquest system updates.
•  Develop data models that facilitate continual examination of the business processes and environment.
•  Validate reports and analyze data against internal and external standards.
•  Offer DevOps support on all digital solutions and internal process automation initiatives.
•  Any other duty as may be assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
•  Write original code and update existing code, ensuring that all code meets program requirements.
•  Perform intensive testing of all new and existing programs to ensure they are free of errors and functions as intended.

KEY PROJECTS

•  Data Discrepancy/ cleanup between the finance system and general insurance system
•  Support the Automation of processes e.g., renewal premium computation and dispatch  KYC Data cleanup
•  Commission processing support and automation  Automation of notification of the various customer touch point
•  Support in development of digital solutions

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

•  Three (3) years software development experience.
•  Experience in supporting the Turnquest Insurance Suite is an added advantage.
•  Experience as a full stack engineer will be an added advantage.
•  Excellent understanding of server-side technologies (e.g Java, PHP, Ruby, Node.js)
•  Infrastructure knowledge including RESTful APIs, single sign-on, LDAP, search Technologies (auth), APIgee, GraphQL, Swagger).
•  Experience with relational and NoSQL Databases.
•  Experience in design-driven development, continuous deployment, code refactoring, design patterns, application security, highly scalable applications.
•  Good understanding of CI/CD processes.
