    Consultant for Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Training and Mentorship

    Job Description

    • SNV seeks to enhance the capacity of its staff in Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI), particularly but not limited to GESI transformative approaches. To achieve this, we are inviting applications from qualified consultants to conduct a comprehensive 2-day GESI training workshop followed by ongoing mentorship and coaching. This initiative aims to equip SNV staff with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively integrate GESI principles into their work.

    Objectives

    • To design and deliver a 2-day interactive training workshop on GESI for SNV staff for a maximum of 25 people.
    • To provide mentorship and coaching to participants post-training to ensure the practical application of GESI principles for a maximum of 25 people.
    • To enhance the overall capacity of SNV staff in mainstreaming GESI within their projects and operations.

    Scope of Work

    Training Needs Assessment (TNA) (1 day):

    • Review existing materials and conduct a needs assessment to tailor the training content to SNV's specific requirements.

    Training Design and Delivery (3 days):

    • Develop a detailed training curriculum and materials.
    • Conduct a 2-day interactive workshop, utilizing various training methodologies (lectures, group discussions, case studies, role-playing, etc.)

    Mentorship and Coaching (5 days):

    • Provide ongoing support and guidance to participants for three months post-training for about 1 to 2 hours per participant.
    • Facilitate regular check-ins and provide feedback to ensure the practical application of learned GESI concepts.

    Reporting (1 day):

    • Prepare a comprehensive report summarizing the training activities, outcomes, and recommendations for future capacity-building initiatives.

    Deliverables

    • Training Needs Assessment report.
    • Detailed training curriculum and materials.
    • Successful delivery of a 2-day GESI training workshop
    • Max two virtual mentorship and coaching sessions for training participants.
    • Final report including an evaluation of the training and mentorship outcomes

    Duration and Timeline

    • The consultancy is expected to commence on 15th of September 2024 and conclude by 28th February 2025, encompassing the preparation, training delivery, mentorship, and reporting phases. The two-day training will take place on 2nd and 3rd of October 2024.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Certification in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, International Development, or a related field.
    • Proven expertise in GESI with a strong track record of delivering similar training and mentorship programs.
    • In-depth Knowledge of GESI: Comprehensive understanding of gender equality, social inclusion principles, and related international frameworks (e.g., CEDAW, SDGs).
    • Training and Facilitation Skills: Proven ability to develop engaging training materials and facilitate interactive workshops.
    • Experience working with international development organizations.
    • Excellent Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex GESI concepts clearly and effectively.
    • Familiarity with SNV’s work and its operational contexts is an advantage.
    • Research and Analytical Skills: Ability to conduct needs assessments, analyse data, and produce comprehensive reports.
