Corporate Secretary at Tharaka University

CORPORATE SECRETARY GRADE 12 Ref: TUN/AD/60/09/24

• Responsible to: Vice-Chancellor

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with governance regulations and statutory requirements.
• Advise the University Council on corporate governance best practices.
• Maintain accurate records of Council meetings, minutes, and resolutions.
• Oversee the execution of contracts and legal documents on behalf of the University.
• Act as the communication link between the Council, management, and stakeholders.
• Organize orientation and training for new Council members.
• Assist in identifying legal risks and ensuring risk management strategies are followed.

Qualification Requirements:

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Public Administration, or a related field from a recognized institution.
• Possession of a Certified Public Secretary (CPS) certification will be an added advantage
• Demonstrate knowledge of the Kenya Corporate law
• Experience: At least 3 years of experience in governance, corporate secretarial roles, or legal advisory.
