    Country Director

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Leading the development and implementation of the country roadmap, aligning closely with the foundation's goals and priorities
    • Representing the country and strategy across leadership and whilst the Board of Directors are visiting.
    • Engaging with key stakeholders, including government, private sector, development organisations and civil society.
    • Ensuring the success and impact of country programs through effective partnerships
    • Working closely with wider country program teams to develop and refine strategies.
    • Oversee all enabling functions based in Kenya e.g. finance, legal, People & Culture.

    Key Requirements:

    • Significant experience in general management or multi-country/global positions such as Country Director, Country Managing Director, or Global Director.
    • Hands-on experience of working within Kenya, either based locally, or travelling frequently to lead teams and business functions.
    • A results-driven leader with strong commercial acumen, exceptional agility, and a deep passion for our mission and work.
    • A relationship builder with a positive mindset, capable of leading beyond the program team, recognizing Kenya as a hub with co-located enterprise staff.
    • Demonstrated success in facilitating organisational change, and building high-performing teams
    • Financial management - dealing with large annual budgets of over US$ 200 million including contracting and disbursements.
    • Strong understanding of the socio and geo-political environment in Kenya.
