Deputy Director Vocational Training at Uasin Gishu County Government

Duties and Responsibilities

• Formulate, implement and review Vocational Training Policies, Strategies and programs;
• Monitor implementation of curricular and co- curricular activities to maintain standards
• Coordinate equitable distribution of materials, tools and equipment to Vocational Training Centres;
• Assess upcoming Vocational Training Centres’ capacity for registration as training and examination Centres;
• Manage disbursement of subsidized Vocational Training Centres tuition scheme and grants;
• Support identification, promotion and development of innovative initiatives in Vocational Training Centres;
• Promote development of talents through creative art (Music, arts and drama);
• Manage inter – Vocational Training Centres’ exchange programmes to enhance learning;
• Ensure the development and maintenance of assets and skills inventories in Vocational Training Centres;
• Popularize Vocational Training Centres to target communities;
• Monitor and evaluate staff performance against set targets;
• Perform other duties as directed by senior officer.

Requirement for Appointment

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education/Technical Education and its equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution;
• Master’s Degree in relevant field from a recognized institution will be an added advantage;
• Have knowledge and relevant work experience of not less than five (5) years, three (3) of which must have been at management level;
• Having undergone management course of not less than four weeks from a recognized institution will be an added advantage;
• Successful applicant to meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution on Leadership and Integrity;
• Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance results.
