    Director, Global Security & Asset Protection, Africa Operating Unit

    Position Overview

    Global Security and Asset protection (GSAP) is tasked with protecting The Coca-Cola Company from security and high risk issues that seriously threaten operations, consumer trust , reputation or shareholder confidence . We deliver high-order threat prevention and resolution support to the global business system, including the development and implementation of complex security programs during major events.  The role provides security advice and guidance across the business system including but not limited to criminal investigations, executive leadership protection, workplace violence, crisis management and business continuity. We maintain subject matter expertise in a wide range of security disciplines and create effective international liaison with law enforcement agencies, U. S. and other Embassies security and law enforcement personnel, as well as private and public sector security and intelligence companies.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the support and implementation of the company’s Security & Asset Protection strategies within one specific geographic business area (Africa Operating Unit) and to support other Global Security and Asset Protection (GSAP) programs across Africa covering the composites of Risk Management, Operations , Incident Management , Information Management and Business Continuity.

    There will be significant travel across Africa and occasionally further afield. Whilst we work flexibly at TCCC, there will be an expectation that (if not travelling) most working time will be from the office. Applicants must have the right to live as well as the right to work in Kenya.  No assistance will be offered in relation to obtaining permissions or in relocation. 

    What You Will Do For Us

    • Incident management – Become a subject matter expert for the TCCC Incident Management & Crisis Resolution process, including the training of bottler and franchise office staff.
    • Support the Business Resilience/Continuity program, including  validation programs, training and desk top exercises.
    • Conduct Security Audits of company owned facilities and implementation of corrective action plans aligned to GSAP programs.
    • Work with GSAP resources to create travel management plans for executives and associates in high-risk areas.
    • Investigations – pre-employment screening, supporting Code of Business Conduct Investigations, criminal and civil investigations where required.
    • Executive protection program – including Expat/Mobility security program and housing, security management and travel.
    • Provide security advice and support to localised events and marketing activations.
    • Support major event planning (World Cup, Olympics)
    • Develop and maintain key relationships with internal and external stakeholders and become a valued partner.
    • Provide in-depth security advice and/or training seminars dealing with loss of company information, kidnap avoidance, safe travel and safe workplace procedures.
    • Resolve security-related incidents (e.g., extortion, kidnapping, product contamination or other criminal attacks) by using accepted security/law enforcement techniques or procedures.
    • Any other duties as assigned by or on behalf of the Chief Security Officer

    Role Requirement

    • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (security, law enforcement, business resilience, legal) or a minimum of 7 years relevant security experience at either government, law enforcement or corporate level.
    • The ability to lead, prioritize, collaborate and execute complex projects.
    • Prioritize competing demands and work with the minimum of supervision.
    • Proven ability to develop and maintain networked relationships with partners and stakeholders, both internal and external.
    • Have recent experience (last two years) of working for, or with, Government, law enforcement, security or intelligence agencies.
    • Understanding of travel risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
    • Understanding or experience of executive protection requirements.
    • Be able to apply investigative procedures and skills to a corporate environment.
    • Demonstrate understanding of enterprise-wide asset protection strategies.
    • Proven experience in incident and crisis management.
    • Demonstrate understanding of principles of business continuity.
    • Experience with complex travel to challenging destinations.
    • Experience in the security management of major events.
    • Excellent spoken and written English. An ability at other languages is advantageous
