    Director-Vocational Training

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Coordinate, initiate, formulate and implement policies in Vocational Training Centers; develop and implement programs, policies and projects to enhance enrollment in VTC’s; train and advice on implementation of Vocational Training curricular and co-curricular activities to meet the set standards; oversee assessment of upcoming youth polytechnics capacity of registration as training institutions and examination Centers; initiate, build and strengthen strategic partnerships and collaborations among stakeholders on revitalization, rehabilitation and promotion of Vocational Training; coordinate management and disbursement of Vocational tuition scheme and grants; build capacity in Vocational Training by conducting regular human resource planning; coordinate establishment of functional Boards of Management to manage Vocational Training; liaise with stakeholders on the domestication of the drawings and bills of quantities for infrastructure development; participate in monitoring and evaluation of Vocational Training programs and projects; responsible for advising the Board of Management on prudent management of Vocational Training funds; coordinate the implementation of the departmental strategic plan, performance contracting, annual work plans and monitoring performance

    Requirement for appointment

    • Be a holder of a bachelor’s degree in education or any other first degree and a post Graduate Diploma in Education or its equivalent and relevant qualifications from a recognized institution
    • Have relevant knowledge and experience of not less than seven (7) years in a related area within the Public Service or Private Sector three (3) of which should be at supervisory or managerial level
    • Have demonstrated thorough understanding of National Goals, Policies and Development Objectives including the Kenya Vision 2030, County Integrated Development Plan and County Strategic Plan
    • Have thorough understanding and respect of the diversity within the County
    • Satisfy the requirements of the Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya; and
    • Have a certificate in Computer application from a recognized institution.
    • Possession of a Master’s degree will be an added advantage
