    Education Specialist - EiE (P-4), PG Education, Outposted

    Management and Advisory Support: In this role, you will provide essential support to the Global Lead by helping to establish annual work plans, set priorities, and measure performance. You will coordinate progress monitoring, address critical issues, and ensure that the EiE team’s work is effectively prioritized and resourced. Additionally, you'll oversee budget tracking and step in for the Lead as needed, contributing to the overall management of the education team.

    Programme Development and Management: You will contribute to the development and implementation of UNICEF’s Strategic Plan and Education Strategy, particularly focusing on Education in Emergencies (EiE). Your responsibilities include supporting resource mobilization efforts, providing technical guidance in L3/L2 emergencies, and preparing various reports and policy documents. You will also engage in advocacy, partnership building, and innovation, working with key stakeholders and agencies to enhance emergency education programs and ensure the integration of best practices and capacity building. 

    The following minimum requirements:

    An advanced university degree in one of the following fields is required: education, economics, psychology, sociology or another relevant technical field.

    Work Experience:

    • A minimum of eight years of professional experience in Education in Emergencies programme planning, management, and/or research in education is required.
    • Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.

    Desirables/Assets:

    • Experience working in a developing country is required, including experience working in emergency contexts.

    Language Requirements:

    • Fluency in English is required. Working knowledge of another UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is considered an asset.
