MAIN PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION

Ensuring availability of the appropriate engineering resources to enable safe and efficient plant operations

KEY DELIVERABLES FOR THIS POSITION

1. Ensure equipment availability and operational efficiency to achieve on time delivery of products to customers
2. Deliver & maintain SOP and regulatory standards.
3. Achieve Quality targets.
4. Achieve Cost targets in cost of production and repairs & maintenance

ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

1. Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering
2. MUST have At least 5 years working experience in a SHOE Factory

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ensure that engineering strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality and delivery targets, which enables the company to function and compete effectively in the market.
2. Ensure implementation of Safety and Standards procedures to support the company strategic plan.
3. Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures
4. Developing and managing engineering standards and procedures to effectively utilize equipment and materials to maximize production and maintain product quality
5. Lead and manage the installation and commissioning of new machines including monitoring performance and carrying out corrective measures
6. Monitoring engineering cost by proper utilization of resources in the plant and budgetary control.
7. Performing engineering analysis and ensuring lowest machine energy and spares consumption reported to ensure corrective action is taken to achieve overall objectives.
8. Ensure all pressure vassal’s equipment’s inspection to be followed as per schedule.
9. Ensure optimal application of technology and engineering resources to meet product development and/or customer requirements, per the product and/or marketing requirements in terms of reduced equipment breakdowns.
10. Establish, document, implement and monitor equipment maintenance schedules in liaison with production while ensuring machine, equipment and process safety for optimum efficiency.
11. Report on engineering activities on a regular basis to the Senior Management team, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of the relevant Key Performance Indicators.
12. Drive Key Performance Indicators across all areas of the Engineering function to ensure that all projects are delivered on cost and on time to the highest quality standards.
13. Provide leadership to Engineering department, coach, mentor, develop direct reports, and manage a high performing team that delivers continuous improvement, added value and cost reductions.
14. Benchmarking and implementing best practices in manufacturing & respective areas of work
15. Implementing product quality, customer & Service Excellence and Change initiatives to achieve desired business plans and culture
