    Global Compensation & Benefits Specialist

    Position summary:

    • The Rainforest Alliance is looking for a seasoned Compensation & Benefits Specialist with global experience to join the HR team.
    • The candidate will be responsible for updating and implementing, the organization's global job architecture and reward and recognition program. This individual plays a critical role in attracting and retaining top talent by creating a positive and rewarding work environment where we celebrate employees' contributions and achievements. This position is also responsible to set up and handle a global payroll provider, in close collaboration with the People Operations team.
    • The position will report to the Senior Manager, Employee Experience, People Data & Systems. This staff position will be working closely with the different HR teams (People Operations, Talent Management team, the People Strategy & Culture team).
    • The HR team at Rainforest Alliance consists of HR professionals who are passionate for RA’s mission and dedicated to creating a great place to work for all our colleagues. 
    • The Global Compensation & Benefit specialist is a hands-on HR professional who is optimistic, has confirmed international working experience and can easily shift from strategy to operations.

    Responsibilities:

    • Maintain the new global job architecture framework that serves as the foundation for handling roles, compensation, career development pathways, and promotions;
    • Develop and lead an organization-wide reward and recognition strategy aligned with the company's culture and core values and in line with the appropriate labour laws, regulations and company policies;
    • Analyse reward and recognition trends to ensure competitiveness within the industry and geographical locations and regularly review and update compensation structures to ensure equity and alignment with organizational goals;
    • Lead all aspects of employee benefit programs and framework, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and incentive programs;
    • Manage and maintain positive relationships with employee unions, external vendors, service providers or representative bodies and contribute to the development of labour agreements;
    • Develop and update HR policies and procedures related to compensation and benefits;
    • Lead the selection, contracting and roll-out of a global payroll provider;
    • Maintain the global payroll system in close collaboration with the People Operations team, and
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications: 

    • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Compensation Professional) is a plus;
    • At least 7 years of proven experience in global payroll, in reward and recognition management in a global environment;
    • Strong project management skills;
    • Knowledge of labor laws, regulations, and best practices;
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills;
    • Analytical approach with the ability to interpret and use data to make informed decisions;
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with employees and external stakeholders;
    • Proficiency in HRIS and compensation software/tools;
    • Strong business acumen and stakeholder management skills;
    • Experience in working in an international environment;
    • High level of integrity and professionalism;
    • Must be pro-active, creative, hard-working, hands-on and able to work collaboratively;
    • Fluency in English (and other languages are a plus);
    • Ability to travel.
