    Junior Consultant

    General Job Description:

    This position has the overall responsibility to:

    • Support consulting assignments by producing work that exceeds expectations, ensuring high quality output, accuracy, completion on time and budget to surpass the client’s objectives.
    • Supervise or support field based distributive sales, market research, technology testing, sales analytics, sales rep coaching and similiar consulting assignments in all channels (Direct trade, Indirect Trade, HoReCa and institutions) and types of markets in Kenya.
    • Conduct research, enumerate findings, draft report and present recommendations responding to client briefs, professionally. Support or oversee implementation of recommendations.
    • Support all other consulting assignments including recruiting, governance, consumer marketing initiatives, IT advisory as may be directed.

    Specific Job Responsibilities

    • The Junior Consultant is responsible and accountable for the following Core job elements:
    • Manage field-based operations in the distributive trade, field research, SFA implementation and convert data gathered into actionable insights. 
    • Prepare detailed project plans, monitor resource allocation, manage project schedules against milestones. Support consultants with research, data analysis and report preparation.
    • Support accurate management of client records such as receipts, payments and disbursements.
    • Recruitment: Support job description preparation, post job opportunities, screen preliminary applications, coordinate candidate interviews and draft reports. 
    • Ensure each assignment is delivered within scope and budget. Track project performance, prepare reports and keep all updated on the status of projects.
    • Support the search for new business opportunities, draft proposals and pitch processes.
    • Support third party staffing assignments by maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records, supporting medical scheme plans, and managing leave.
    • Uphold own and client policies including integrity, anti-bribery, conflict of interest, code of conduct, IT guidelines and stated quality standards.

    Educational and Colletaral Requirement

    • An undergraduate business-related degree. An MBA from a leading university is a strong bonus.
    • Three or more years of experience in field-based consumer goods sales. Basic SFA and analytics knowledge, demonstrated 5P implementation excellence, ROI-driven are key advantages. 
    • Demonstrated experience handling confidential data and other information.
    • Proven numeracy with outstanding analytical thought processes and presentation skills.
    • Working experience with Microsoft Office’s Word, Advanced Excel, SharePoint and PowerPoint.
    • Team player, autonomous self-starter, customer-centric, curious, teachable and innovative. 
    • Understands complex, often ambiguous ideas, communicates concisely verbally and in writing.
