REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT

For appointment to this grade an officer MUST:

• Be a Kenyan citizen (National Identity Card/ Passport);
• Be a holder of a Diploma in Orthopedic plaster Technology or its equivalent from a recognized training institution;
• Be a registered member of a relevant regulatory body;
• Possess a valid practicing license;
• Be in possession of certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution; and
• Have Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific duties and responsibilities will be as follows:

• Prepare patients for orthopedic and trauma procedures and operations;
• Assist orthopedic surgeons during operations and trauma care;
• Provide support in the application and removal of casts and splints;
• Provide initial patient assessment and care for orthopedic and trauma injuries;
• Offer guidance and support to patients and their families on care and rehabilitation;
• Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of orthopedic equipment;
• Manage inventory of supplies and request replenishments as needed;
• Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment plans and progress notes;
• Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation related to orthopedic and trauma care
