    Partner, Program Planning & Monitoring

    The Oppourtunty 

    • Reporting to the Lead, Program Monitoring & Planning, the Partner, Program Planning & Monitoring will collate progress and monitoring data from Mastercard Foundation's implementing partners. S/he will be the liaison, generating insights for learning and adaptive management between the partners and the Foundation. The partner will also work in collaboration with the Impact team at the Country and Enterprise levels and with the Strategy and Planning function.

    Ways You can Contribute 

    • Support the process of co-creating and crystallizing Theories of Change with partners and program teams.
    • Mainstream Learning and Adaptive Management Process (LAMP) in programming and support training for both partners and program teams.
    • Monitor agreed KPIs and support the development of additional indicators for effective and efficient implementation to increase impacts at scale.
    • Contribute to developing indicators, monitoring frameworks, and tools for measuring progress in Foundation-funded investments.
    • Support the Foundation’s partners in developing robust monitoring tools and producing quality reports, including routine monitoring, collecting significant change stories, conducting audits, and verifying project data.
    • Assist the Foundation’s Partners and other stakeholders in data collection, report writing, and documenting good practices achieved through the Foundation’s partnerships.
    • Help Foundation’s Partners and their community streamline their M&E systems in line with the Foundation’s evolving impact strategy and measurement.
    • Coordinate the identification of key insights, especially from young women and men, and manage documentation of the data and information.
    • Record and analyze Foundation Partner monitoring data to support effective progress reporting and decision-making.
    • Train and coach staff of Foundation’s Partners and stakeholders on using the monitoring framework, data collection, and documentation tools.
    • Provide support, coaching, and technical assistance to Foundation’s Partner staff on participatory monitoring methodologies, especially with youth.
    • Collaborate on various program planning and monitoring tasks as guided.

    Who You Are

    • Bachelor's degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Economics, Statistics, or a related field. A postgraduate degree is an added advantage.
    • At least 5 years of experience in development and private sector initiatives, focusing on monitoring and evaluation (M&E) functions in development projects or government roles.
    • Membership in M&E associations locally and internationally, with current expertise in effective M&E practices.
    • Experience supporting partner organizations and other stakeholders in conducting data collection and M&E activities.
    • Experience developing, updating, and delivering training on M&E systems, as well as introducing new methods and setting up computerized Management Information Systems (MIS).
    • Proficiency in using tech-enabled tools for data collection, analysis, reporting, communication, social media engagement, blogging, and transcribing youth-focused narratives.
    • Experience in participatory approaches with a demonstrated commitment to gender inclusion and youth engagement.
    • Experience conducting data quality assessments of administrative, qualitative, and quantitative data using mixed methods.
    • Knowledge of current issues in youth-focused challenges and opportunities, particularly in the tech sector, agriculture, and SMEs.
    • Good understanding of gender and gender-transformative programming.
    • Fluency in English and local languages relevant to the Foundation's operations. Fluency in French is an added advantage.
    • Understanding of systems thinking and the ability to develop and test theories of change for Indigenous communities.
    • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate across cultures.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with and relate to a broad range of internal stakeholders, including Foundation leadership.
    • Commitment to Mastercard Foundation’s values and vision.
