    Program Manager

    The Role

    The Program Manager will oversee the implementation of This Ability Trust programs nationwide, with a strong focus on Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR). They will lead the programs team through all phases of the program cycle including planning, implementation and monitoring of the SRHR-focused projects. They will foster collaboration with stakeholders, partners and the communities we serve to achieve SRHR program objectives. Furthermore, they will provide regular updates on programs progress, maintain comprehensive documentation and ensure effective reporting for program accountability.

    Overall Objective:

    To lead This Ability Trusts’ Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights programs through Project Management, Partnership Development and Stakeholder Engagement, Reporting and Documentation, Advocacy and Financial & Resource Management

    Responsibilities:

    The Program Manager will be responsible for the following:

    Program Management:

    • Develop, implement and manage SRHR program plans and activities in line with This Ability Trust’s mission and strategic plan.
    • Monitor program progress, identify challenges, and propose solutions for effective implementation.
    • Ensure program activities are executed on time and within the allocated budget.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.

    Stakeholder Engagement

    • Collaborate with partners, government agencies, donors, and other stakeholders to build and maintain relationships.
    • Advocate for sexual and reproductive health and rights and needs of women and girls with disabilities within the community.

    Reporting and Documentation

    • Prepare regular and timely reports on all program progress, outcomes, and impact for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Prepare quarterly reports and projections on programs for presentation to the Board of Trustees.
    • Maintain accurate records of program activities, expenditures, and beneficiary data.

    Resource Mobilization

    • Support fundraising efforts by contributing to grant applications, donor proposals, and budget development.
    • Seek opportunities for program expansion and financial self-sustainability.

    Required Experience:

    • An Advanced degree in a relevant field e.g Human Rights, Social Sciences, Gender or Development Studies
    • At least 5-7 years of relevant work experience in program management, i.e planning, implementing and evaluating projects, with a strong preference for experience in the non-profit sector or in organizations focused on Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights and Disability Rights.
    • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, Civil Society Organisations, community groups and persons with disabilities.
    • Experience in supporting fundraising efforts, including grant writing, proposal development and donor relationship management.
    • In-depth understanding of sexual and reproductive health rights and disability issues, policies and best practices.
    • Experience working with women and girls with disabilities is an added advantage.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English and Swahili)
    • Ability to create a positive and collaborative work environment with all members of This Ability Trust team.
    • Knowledge of relevant national and international frameworks related to sexual and reproductive health rights and disability rights.
    • Great interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
    • Possesses the ability to envision future outcomes and develop strategic plans to achieve long-term objectives.
    • Cultural competence and sensitivity to the needs and perspectives of women and girls with various disabilities.
