    Project Officer, Digital Dadas

    The Idea

    • Training on Digital Literacy and Storytelling: The participants undertake the course which consists of various topics such as Digital Marketing Fundamentals, Content Marketing, Social Media Marketing, Social Media Advertising, SEO, Display Advertising, Email Marketing, Google My Business and Google Analytics. The learning process is fully online and we use several platforms to ensure all Dadas have access to the content and information. The Skills eLearning platform is where they have access to digital marketing content. There are also weekly sessions on zoom facilitated by young women with disabilities that have already completed the course. We also have a Whatsapp group where all Dadas can share questions, information, learning resources, among others.
    • Mentorship on Sexual Reproductive Health Rights: During the duration of the program, the young women go through an internal mentorship process on comprehensive sexuality education, empowerment, leadership and life skills. This space provides the opportunity to have in depth conversations on employability, self esteem, sexuality among others. Internship and CyberActivism: To enhance their hands-on experience, we created an internal process where the young women rotate through
    • This Ability Trust’s projects, media and finance departments to gain practical tips on how these departments operate, and work within the respective departments to strengthen their projects. Additionally, the Dadas also receive hands-on training using social media for sexual reproductive health rights advocacy. The Dadas also run periodic campaigns incorporating all the skills gained during the program.

    Responsibilities:
    Project Planning and Coordination:

    • Develop a detailed project plan for the Digital Dada, comprehensive sexuality education program for young women with disabilities.
    • Coordinate all project activities, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and standards.

    Skills eLearning Curriculum strengthening:

    • Collaborate with experts in sexuality education, disability studies, and youth development to improve the design of inclusive and accessible curricula.
    • Ensure that educational materials address the diverse needs and abilities of young women with disabilities.

    Skills Learning Management System (LMS) Management:

    • Oversee the implementation and management of the Skills Learning Management System used for Digital Dada program in collaboration with the IT Officer.
    • Ensure the Skills LMS is user-friendly, accessible, and supports the delivery of diverse learning resources.

    Training Delivery:

    • Facilitate comprehensive sexuality education sessions for young women with disabilities, utilizing inclusive and participatory teaching methods.
    • Create a supportive and non-judgmental learning environment to encourage open dialogue and learning.

    Capacity Building:

    • Develop strategies to empower young women with disabilities to make informed decisions about their sexual and reproductive health.
    • Provide mentorship and support to participants, fostering self-advocacy and confidence.

    Accessibility and Inclusivity:

    • Ensure that all training materials, venues, and activities are accessible to young women with various disabilities.
    • Collaborate with accessibility experts to incorporate universal design principles in educational materials and sessions.

    Needs Assessment:

    • Conduct needs assessments to identify the specific challenges and knowledge gaps related to sexuality education among young women with disabilities.
    • Tailor education programs based on the identified needs and preferences of young women with disabilities.

    Collaboration and Networking:

    • Establish and maintain partnerships with disability organizations, educational institutions, and other stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with external partners to enhance the quality and reach of the Digital Dada program.

    Monitoring and Evaluation:

    • Develop and implement a robust monitoring and evaluation framework to assess the impact of the Digital Dada program.
    • Collect and analyze data on participant outcomes, feedback, and behavior change.

    Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain detailed records of the Digital Dada program, including education activities, participant achievements, and feedback.
    • Prepare and submit regular reports to internal and external stakeholders, highlighting key accomplishments and challenges.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., education, public health, disability studies).
    • Proven experience in designing and implementing comprehensive sexuality education programs, especially for individuals with disabilities, using eLearning platforms
    • In-depth knowledge of sexuality education, disability rights, and inclusive teaching practices.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Sensitivity to the needs of young women with disabilities and a commitment to inclusion.
    • Knowledge of the local Kenyan Context
    • Strong understanding of sexual reproductive health rights issues and related policies.
    • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems and multimedia content creation tools.
    • Strong technical and troubleshooting skills.
    • Excellent communication, collaboration and networking skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
