    Quality Assurance Manager

    SUMMARY OF POSITION.
    The purpose of the Quality Assurance Manager/Food Safety Team Leader is to ensure that the products produced by the company meet all quality requirements. The Quality Assurance Manager/Food Safety Team Leader exercises complete responsibility for ensuring quality, safety and legality of company products.
    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide leadership to the plant in areas of food safety and product quality
    • Lead the Internal Audits of the Quality Assurance Team
    • Ensure the receiving procedures for incoming Macadamia Nuts and Products used in production are following quality and safety standards.
    • Assuring the reliability and consistency of production by checking processes and final output and ensuring all the processes followed comply with the regulatory requirements
    • Carry out supplier audits to ensure they meet our standards.
    • Train our Macadamia suppliers on expected Macadamia quality standards and assess their farms and assist where needed with an improvement plan
    • Ensure that the ISO 22000:2018 standards and procedures are being followed
    • Keep factory up-to-date with municipal and Government regulations regarding food processing plants
    • Ensure relevant training and education of the food safety team members and other staff of food safety and quality,
    • Prepare all & manage all ISO 22000 documentation
    • Meet with any external auditors who want to audit the factory.
    • Ensure the end product meet the hygiene as well as quality requirements. The pack team would report to you on this.
    • Internal audit planning & management. Manage all the internal audits for the ISO22000:2018 plan.
    • Nonconformity and corrective action: Manage any recall, mock recalls and nonconfirming products.
    • Gather the team and coordinate the process.
    • Report to the top management on the performance of the FSMS and any need for improvement.
    • Induction of new employees
    • Planning and coordinating the work of quality controllers
    • Liaison with external parties on matters relating to food safety and Quality management system.
    • Define the QA strategy and approach for all the company’s products and be ultimately responsible for ensuring product quality.
    • Lead and direct the QA team for excellent delivery
    • Receive all escalations of all matters related to quality assurance and provide leadership in providing solutions to the issues.
    • Collaborate with stakeholder teams to establish company’s quality standards, polices, and procedures.
    • Provide quality ownership by regularly evaluating the set quality assurance standards in order to determine their adequacy and required improvement
    • Provide necessary tools and systems required by the team for managing quality testing and documentation.
    • Develop the scope of testing for the developed systems
    • Ensure that the developed systems comply with both in-house and industry standards of development
    • Prepare reports on non-compliance of the tested systems and or quality processes, root cause analysis and make recommendations for corrective action to the relevant teams
    • Coordinate and support on-site audits conducted by external providers in case of
    • International Standards and Best Practice appraisal of the organization
    • Identify training needs and organize training interventions to meet quality standards in the Quality Assurance team
    • Evaluate the Quality Assurance Unit structure and team so as to plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the team as well as provide individuals with professional and personal growth.
    • Approve the systems which meet the test requirements for deployment
    • Ensure that necessary documentation for released systems is provided including user manual, release notes history and test results evaluate audit findings and implement appropriate corrective actions monitor risk management activities
    • Reading, understanding and following standard operating procedures (SOPs) in place for various processes.
    • Reporting quality performance indicators at regular intervals.
    • Any other job as may be instructed from time to time similar to the nature of duties above or as a result of operational necessity.

    People Management

    • Manage, coach and develop a high-performance QA team.
    • Review and asses ongoing performance of direct reports.
    • Report on the achievement of the team performance and identify any action required.
    • Motivate and coach the team to operational success.
    • Review, implement and update company records.
    • Financial Management
    • Hold responsibility for QA budgets.
    • Prepare the annual QA budget and forecast all capital expenditure as well as ensuring
    • compliance with legal standards.
    • Relationship Management
    • Develop and maintain a strong relationship with internal and external stake holders to
    • ensure optimal performance
    • Liaise and communicate with other departments, suppliers and other service providers.
    • Work as part of the management team to share ideas and improve operations and
    • organizational performance.
