    Quality Assurance Officer – Pharmacy Services- Equity Afia

    Position: Quality Assurance Officer – Pharmacy Services

    The Quality Assurance Officer – Pharmacy Services will coordinate Equity Afia quality assurance initiatives as part of the QA team. They will contribute to the establishment & maintenance of quality standards and procedures with an aim of implementing quality management systems for clinical services offered at Equity Afia.

    They shall be responsible for:

    • Develop, implement, and maintain a robust quality management system for the pharmacy, in compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines. 
    • Conduct regular inspections and audits of pharmacy operations, facilities, and documentation to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to quality standards. 
    • Perform risk assessments to identify potential quality issues and develop strategies to mitigate them. 
    • Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to establish and maintain quality agreements and supplier quality programs. 
    • Review and approve standard operating procedures (SOPs), validation protocols, batch records, and other relevant documents to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. 
    • Monitor and evaluate product quality complaints, deviations, and non-conformances, and lead investigations to determine root causes and implement corrective actions. 
    • Provide training to pharmacy staff on quality-related topics, including GMP, quality systems, and documentation practices. 
    • Stay up to date with regulatory changes and industry best practices related to pharmaceutical quality assurance. 
    • Prepare and submit reports to regulatory agencies as required. 
    • Identify & leverage on opportunities for continuous quality improvement and process reengineering to optimize operational efficiency and patient care at the Equity Afia facilities.

    Qualifications
    Desired Academic & Professional Qualifications

    • Diploma in Pharmacy or Bachelor of Pharmacy 
    • Quality or Health Services Management background 
    • At least 5-years’ post-qualification experience clinical practice 
    • At least 2 -years’ experience implementing quality management systems in a busy clinical set up 
    • Membership and duly licensed by a professional body (Pharmacy and Poisons Board)
    • MS Office proficiency, very good data analytical, presentation & report writing skills
    • In-depth understanding of good clinical practice requirements. 
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks. 
    • Good leadership/people/ team skills
