Senior Internal Auditor at Uasin Gishu County Government

QUALIFICATIONS,REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Requirements for Appointment:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce/Business Administration or its equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution;
• Have knowledge and relevant work experience of not less than three (3) years;
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) finalist or Certified Internal Auditors (CIA) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA);
• Member of Institute of Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) in good standing;
• Successful applicant to meet the requirement of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya on Leadership and Integrity
• Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance results

Duties and Responsibilities

• Participate in preparation of audit plans, programmes and budgets;
• Carry out review of internal control systems on financial and other operations;
• Assist in ascertaining the adequacy of the Department’s internal control and providing remedial advice.
• Examine efficiency and effectiveness of financial and operating systems including computer systems;
• Carry out monitoring of audit inspections
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual audit reports;
• Verify the existence and safety of assets;
• Plan, monitor and evaluate performance of staff against the set targets.
• Perform other roles as assigned by the controlling officer
