Senior Software Developer at KPN Teleradiology

Location: Nyahururu, Kenya

Job Description: As a Senior Software Developer at KPN Teleradiology, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing a comprehensive PACS system to enhance our teleradiology services. You will work closely with our radiologists, AI developers, and IT team to create a robust and user-friendly system that meets the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of a PACS system from concept to deployment.
• Collaborate with radiologists and other stakeholders to gather and define system requirements.
• Design and implement software architecture that is scalable, secure, and efficient.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, including design specifications, user manuals, and technical guides.
• Ensure the PACS system complies with relevant healthcare standards and regulations.
• Integrate the PACS system with existing teleradiology solutions and AI diagnostic tools.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring system reliability and performance.
• Ensuring software is UpToDate with latest technologies.
• Mentor and guide junior developers, promoting best practices in software development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in software development, with a focus on healthcare systems or medical imaging.
• Proven experience in developing PACS systems or similar healthcare IT solutions.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or similar.
• Experience with database management systems and SQL.
• Knowledge of DICOM standards and HL7 protocols.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and microservices architecture.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Preferred Skills
• Experience with AI and machine learning integration.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices in healthcare.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
