Superintending Engineer /Chief Structural Engineer at Laikipia County Government

Duties and Responsibilities

Design, preparation of bills of quantities and detailing of structural and civil works drawings for various structures such as roads, sewage, marine works, retaining walls and footbridges. In addition, the officer will train and supervise staff; checking drawings and bending schedules prepared by staff working under him/her and compiling work output weekly output chart structural Assistants in the unit, coordination of digitization of drawings and management of plans, records and storage; retrieval and construction of information.

Requirements for Appointment

• A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or its equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution; and
• Been registered by the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya (ERB) as a graduate Engineer;
• Have a current valid annual practicing license from the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya
• Be a corporate member of Institute of Engineers of Kenya (IEK)
• Have relevant knowledge and experience of not less than three (3) years in the professional field;
• Demonstrate competency and ability required to handle technical and administrative matters at this level; and,
• Have a certificate in computer application
• Possession of a Master’s degree will be an added advantage
