    Technical Service Manager

    General Purpose

    • The candidate will oversee the Company’s Technical operations for water, ensure that the technical assets of the Company are acquired, maintained and operated according to standard and specifications as stipulated by the Water Services Regulatory Board (WASREB) guidelines. The person appointed will head the Technical Services department.
    • Reporting to: Managing Director.
    • Renumeration: It will be as guided by the salary structure of the company.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide strategic and technical leadership in the Technical Department to ensure provision of high quality services to customers.
    • Support engineers in ensuring quality and timely responses to requests, in compliance with standards and procedures.
    • Steer the development of departmental policies, procedures and action plans in line with the Company mission and objectives,
    • Ensure the audits are carried out on time and remedial action taken.
    • Oversee preparation and submission of comprehensive departmental work plans, reports and budgets to Managing Director to facilitate decision- making.
    • Ensure development of departmental staff through training and motivation.
    • Ensure that water infrastructure is operated and maintained to the required Standards,
    • Advise the Company on the acquisition of capital assets and on all technical matters.
    • Provide technical expertise and advise in the acquisition of contractors and consultants for major works.
    • Provide overall supervision of major water and sanitation construction works.
    • Prepare Bill of Quantities and working drawings for water and sanitation projects.
    • Prepare interim payment certificates and completion certificates for contractors.
    • Participate in setting performance targets for technical staff in the Company.
    • Oversee the planning and coordination of quality, maintenance and engineering (capacity works) related issues.
    • Ensure provision of high quality portable water to customers.

    Knowledge, skills, Qualifications and experience required for this role.

    • Possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in Civil Engineering, Water and Environmental Engineering, Soil and Water Engineering or their equivalent from a recognized university. A Master's degree or higher qualification will be an added advantage
    • Have experience in management of public/private entities for a period of not less than five (5) years.
    • Attendance and successful completion of a management course from a recognized institution will be an added advantage;
    • Be registered with the relevant professional body and be a member in good standing where applicable.
    • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with highly demonstrable competencies in strategy formulation and implementation, building shared vision and managing people in a multi- cultural environment.

    • Be a Kenyan citizen 
    • Candidates must attach clear copy of their national identity cards or passport.
    • Candidates must satisfy the requirements of leadership and integrity in chapter six of the constitution of Kenya, 2010 by obtaining clearance from
    • Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), Directorate of criminal investigation (DCI), Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) and Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC). These must be availed at the interview.
