    Carbon Sales Account Manager

    About the role 

    BURN is seeking a Carbon Sales Account Manager to support our European and North American clients. The Account Manager will be stewarding long-term trusted relationships, operate as the main point of contact, and manage our detailed client contracts.  

    This person will respond to client enquiries and identify new business opportunities among existing customers. In this role, you will liaise with cross-functional internal teams (including Carbon Operations and Finance) to continually improve the full customer experience through a commitment to processes and procedures. 
     
    Our Account Manager will be highly detail-oriented and will have a background in project management. If you have directly managed European and North American clients, have managed complex projects, and have formidable skills in client communication, we’d like to meet you. 

    Duties and Responsibilities  

    • Serve as the main point of contact for all customer account management matters 
    • Ensure the timely and successful delivery of credits and services according to customer contracts and additional requests 
    • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with international clients 
    • Develop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts 
    • Collaborate with the Sales Team to identify and grow opportunities and meet our KPIs through forecasting and metrics 
    • Manage and monitor sales practices and tools to support repeatable, scalable sales processes that accelerate growth quickly 
    • Maintain and manage a client database 
    • Collaborate with members across departments to produce high-quality proposals, marketing materials for projects, outreach to our customer base, market announcements, etc. 

    Skills and Experience 

    • 7+ years of experience working as an Account Manager, Key Account Manager, Sales Account Manager, or relevant role dealing with sophisticated international clients 
    • Very detail-oriented with a technical and/or project management background 
    • Demonstrable ability to communicate, present, and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organization 
    • Solid experience with CRM software (e.g. Zoho or HubSpot), and MS Office (particularly MS Excel) 
    • A laser-like attention to detail 
    • Proven ability to juggle multiple account management projects at one time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail 
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills in international English 
    • Comfortable engaging senior stakeholders and closing deals with large companies 
    • Experience within the carbon offset credits markets is desirable, or experience in fair trade and commodity markets 
    • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple country offices and departments 
    • Technical aptitude to learn quickly to discuss carbon standards and credit quality

    Casual Labour Coordinator

    About the role

    • Burn is looking for a Casual Labour Coordinator who will be pivotal in ensuring the manufacturing entity operates smoothly by managing daily work schedules and rotas for casual labour.
    • This position requires a proactive individual, seasoned in managing casual labour, to ensure production teams are staffed with the right skilled workers to meet production demands. This role demands strong work ethics,  integrity and flexibility to be available when duty calls.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Staffing Strategy: Collaborate with department heads to identify staffing needs and develop strategies to ensure the company is adequately staffed with skilled casual labour.
    • Casual Request Fulfilment: Efficiently manage and respond to requests for casual workers, ensuring timely fulfilment of staffing needs.
    • Address Staffing Shortfalls: Report and address staffing shortfalls promptly. Resolve issues related to staffing shortages or scheduling conflicts. Proactively replace casual workers who are absent to maintain uninterrupted production.
    • Onboarding: Conduct comprehensive onboarding sessions for casual workers to familiarize them with company policies, production processes, and EHS and register them in the biometric system.
    • Sourcing: Actively source additional casual workers in response to increasing work demands, ensuring a seamless integration into the workforce. Assist in the hiring process by screening candidates.
    • Compensation Alignment: Verify and align casual workers’ compensation with the biometric attendance system for accurate payment for days worked.
    • Performance Monitoring: Generate daily staffing reports to track attendance and performance. Provide feedback to employees and management and submit weekly performance reports.
    • Employee Compensation: Confirm staff details and working hours for accurate compensation. Collaborate with payroll to address pay discrepancies and ensure timely payment.

    Skills and Experience

    • A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
    • 4 years + proven experience in staffing coordination within a manufacturing environment.
    • Strong understanding of labour laws and regulations.
    • Experience managing employee relations is an added advantage.
    • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HR management software.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

    Government Relations and Communications Lead - Kenya

    About the Role:

    BURN is looking for a Government Relations and Communications Lead who will be responsible for developing and executing effective government relations that represent the organization's business plans and interests.  

    Candidates will show a good understanding of the policy environment and political processes in East Africa. Ideally, candidates will have excellent interpersonal skills as well as a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.  

    He/ She will work closely with the Director of Corporate Affairs and Head of Communications to create messaging that enhances the company's brand, supports the policy team initiatives manages crisis communication, and ensures that all external communication is aligned with the organization's goals and values. 

    Duties and Responsibilities: 

    • Develop and execute government affairs and corporate communication strategies. 
    • Monitor the political environment and disseminate relevant information to Country Managers and Director of Corporate Affairs. 
    • Assists senior management and leadership with strategic planning for known and potential regulatory activities related to the business and industry. 
    • Builds and maintains professional relationships with members of regional, national and local government entities and agencies. 
    • Joins trade associations and industry committees and seeks leadership roles. 
    • Collaborates with industry advocates to build areas of common interest. 
    • Introduces legislative and public policy changes that will support company operations. 
    • Organising engagements with government, strategic partners and key opinion leaders as needed 
    • Develop messaging and content for external affairs, including white papers, position papers, press releases, speeches, presentations, and other materials that enhance the organization's brand and promote its values. 
    • Create and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and other stakeholders to ensure that the organization's message is accurately and positively portrayed in the media. 
    • Manage crisis communication and ensure that all external communication is consistent and timely during challenging times. 
    • Respond to media inquiries and perform media outreach to achieve brand placement in publications. 
    • Ensure all communications are consistent, accurate, and aligned with the company's tone of voice and messaging guidelines. 

    Skills and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field. 
    • 5-7 years of relevant experience in government relations, public relations, or related roles. 
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
