    Basel II & III Developer

    Job Description

    Reporting to the Head - Lending Risk, the Basel II & III Developer shall design, develop, implement and maintain Lending Risk MIS. In addition, the holder of this position will be responsible for extraction, processing and maintenance of data for use in reporting, credit models development and validation

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Design Develop, implement and support Lending Risk MIS and data infrastructure to support Credit Risk Management within the bank.
    • Analysis, Design and Development of robust web applications to serve varying needs.
    • Analysis of Lending Risk data requirements and available sources of data.
    • Development of high quality and efficient ETL processes to avail data to MIS.
    • Design, develop and maintain lending risk Data Mart.
    • Periodically review lending risk data infrastructure for accuracy, validity, relevance and performance.
    • Work closely with a team of Quantitative Analysts to support their analytical reporting and modeling; assisting in data retrieval, manipulation and presentation.

    The Person:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Applied Statistics, Mathematics or a related field from a recognized university is a requirement.
    • Masters’ degree in a relevant discipline shall be an advantage
    • Minimum of 2years’ experience in Software Applications development using popular development environments; MS .NET, Java etc.
    • Proven experience in the development of robust Web Applications.
    • 2 years ‘experience with Relational Database Management Systems (preferably MSSQL and Oracle) is a requirement. Proficiency in the SQL Language required.
    • Experience in the design, development and management of large datasets.
    • Good knowledge of Data Integration Tools (Microsoft SSIS preferred).

    Manager, Risk Assessments

    Job Description

    The Position:

    Reporting to the Head, Information Risk, the position is responsible for assuring oversight on IT related risks including risk assessments, ensure that subsidiaries meet KCB Group standards and anticipate potential threats and vulnerabilities to enable the bank take advantage of emerging technologies

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct periodic IT risk assessment to ensure all risks have been identified have been, brought to the attention of management and appropriate control measures implemented to mitigate risk;
    • Provide information risk consultation and guidance during system, application development and e-product development to assure that security concerns are fully addressed in the process;
    • Performs information control reviews to include system development standards, operating procedures, system security, programming controls, communication controls, backup and disaster recovery, and system maintenance.
    • Prepare and submit information Risk reports for both consumption by Board of Directors and Senior Management
    • Conduct risk awareness through training
    • Review and accredit newly developed systems before deployment in live environment;
    • Liaise with Risk Heads in subsidiaries with a view of ensuring that Group standards are met
    • Proactively anticipate potential threats and vulnerabilities and provide guidance in coordination with IT department on effective responses or control measures within subsidiaries

    The Person:

    • Bachelors’ Degree in Business or related field. A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline will be an added advantage.

    • Minimum 3 years’ Operational Risk experience.
    • Minimum 3 years IT experience in infrastructure management/channels management/systems development, network admin/Office systems.

    Information Architect

    Job Description

    The Position:

    Reporting to the Senior Manager, Enterprise Architecture, the incumbent is responsible for developing IT information models (message protocols, defined data structures, schemas, information types and workflows) and relating documentation for IT Systems in use by or to be procured by the Bank in line with Bank policy, Business Processes, Architecture and Best Practice, standards and methods

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate information flow through the enterprise, eliciting business requirements and generation / development of relevant business requirements documentation.
    • Translate user needs into functional requirements. Identify user requirements by researching and analysing user needs, preferences, objectives, and working methods; studying how users consume content, including data categorization and labelling, meeting with focus groups.
    • Investigate the requirements of the customers for the content and structure of information deliverables.
    • Perform a content inventory showing all content elements, relationships and dependencies.
    • Validate information delivery by developing and completing usability test plans; evaluating traffic patterns and studying user feedback.
    • Communicate with clients to understand their business requirements. Ensure documented content meets audience and organization needs as well as analysing users experience and their problems
    • Develop practical plans in order to support organizational development. Identify content that helps support user goals and business goals.
    • Keep up-to-date and knowledgeable about industry trends and emerging technologies associated with Enterprise Information Architecture.
    • Develop and build consensus for a strategic vision and roadmap for the organization to identify and prioritize information architecture projects and investments, consistent with the business strategies, which includes information governance policies and processes for the management and use of information.
    • Lead the identification and analysis of the Bank’s business drivers to derive Enterprise business, information, technical and solution architecture requirements.
    • Assess the current IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement in line with the Bank’s strategy and delivery priority of the IT programs.
    • Lead the development of an implementation plan for the Enterprise Architecture models based on business requirements and Information Technology strategies.
    • Market the Enterprise Architecture function, process and results, in particular to the business side of the Bank.
    • Establish standards, guidelines, checklists and processes for architectural development and compliance.
    • Build and maintain productive relations with Sector Heads/Relationship teams/Product houses/Finance/ stakeholders to drive delivery of business solutions and revenue growth for the specific sectors or portfolio.
    • Ensure timely preparation of relevant reports, financial and performance metrics’ and cascade to the team in a timely manner or as per SLA.
    • Ensure compliance to the Bank’s policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.

    The Person:

    For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following minimum requirements:

    • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field from a reputable and CHE recognized institution.
    • Professional IT certifications in the following: ITIL Foundation; Prince2 Practitioner; Business Analysis e.g. CBAP
    • Other relevant Technical Certifications e.g. SQL, data modelling, Software Development
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar business analysis related role
    • Ability to perform impact analysis of new and proposed architectures in relation to the current landscape and available technologies utilized in the IT environment.
    • Ability to conceptualize, formulate, and present complex business demands / requirements via comprehensible models and templates.
    • Hands on experience with project methodologies i.e. SDLC processes & agile based development methodology.

    • Working experience in UML.

    Mobile Channel Support, Digital Financial Services

    Job Description

    The Position:

    Reporting to the Senior Manager Digital Systems Support, the systems channel support person shall ensure smooth running of all Digital Platform services and interacting channels and third-party systems. The holder will provide both onsite and off the site technical support for the live system components as well constantly monitoring the system’s health status. The holder must demonstrate a strong understanding of and high regard for mobile money systems and other delivery channels for both bank corporate and retail customers including online digital channels, agency banking services as well as mobile apps. The holder must demonstrate proficiency in issue tracking and resolution skills as well strong understanding of escalation matrices. The holder will also be required to easily learn all the business configuration procedures and processes for the bank’s digital platform product. The position requires someone with experience and expertise in mobile and internet based financial systems technologies as well as APP, SMS and USSD connectivity. The person should have a good grasp of emerging channel technologies and applications and convergence of mobile and internet channels.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Business configurations of the Digital Platform and S&L system and formulation of support manuals;
    • Develop subject matter expert knowledge of Mobile, eCommerce and other payment banking technologies;
    • Develop real time online reports and monitoring tools to be able to track internet / mobile banking and internet acquiring system uptime and performance;
    • Maintain up to date system and user documentation including configuration documents;
    • Following established change management practices by ensuring that they are well tested and are rolled out in a manner that adheres to established business processes;
    • Keep track of user issues and oversee their prompt resolution;
    • Ensure compliance of SLAs by system vendors;

    • Professional IT qualifications in one or more of the following: Networks, Databases, Systems Support, Security would be an added advantage

    Brand Manager Consumer

    The Position:

    Develop and execute strategic marketing and activity plans that drive the business objectives of customer numbers, revenue and product penetration of the Consumer Banking portfolio comprising Personal Banking (Cub account), Mobile Banking, KCB Insurance Agency & KCB Capital.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Planning - Development and execution of marketing plan for the assigned products and/or business units.
    • BU Engagement - Work closely with the unit heads, product development team and sales teams to achieve the business objectives. Participate in projects driven by the respective business units supported.
    • Campaigns/Promotions - The key components of this item are:
      • Develop briefs for campaigns and promotional projects in line with the business and brand objectives.
      • Work with partner agencies and suppliers to ensure timely execution of promotional projects and campaigns with the aim of achieving the business and brand objectives.
      • Implement an internal marketing plan
      • Regular performance tracking and compilation of a report on each activity which is circulated to the respective stakeholders.
      • Close out all campaigns/promotions with a duly signed off report.
    • Project management - Coordinate partner agencies and suppliers to execute product activations for the products effectively within set timelines.
    • Budget management – Monitor assigned account and reconcile the same on a monthly basis with Finance. Track all Local Purchase Orders (LPO’s) and payments to ensure timely supplier payment and spend within plan.
    • Market Intelligence – The key components of this item are:
      • Utilize research reports such as Brand Tracker, Usage and Attitude surveys and product specific surveys to inform and develop marketing plans.
      • Track and analyze assigned product performance through sales numbers and value, monthly Share of Voice (SOV) and monthly competitor advertising and industry trends, and utilize to prepare monthly reports with recommendations to the line manager.
    • Coach and motivate the team - Ensure they are set up with all the necessary tools and have adequate knowledge to drive and deliver on business objectives
    • Sales team linkage - Work closely with regional sales teams and branches to ensure sales support at marketing activations and events as well as provide sales teams with any required support during sales driven activities.
    • Procurement and Merchandise Management - Liaise with Procurement to ensure merchandise ordered is as per correct specification and meets brand guidelines. Liaise with Procurement to ensure supplier sourcing is done in accordance to budget and business needs while maximizing savings through effective negotiations with service providers.

    The Person:

    For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:

    • A Bachelor of Commerce degree, with specialization in Marketing or any other related field is required
    • Professional qualifications in CIM will be an added advantage
    • A Master’s degree in Marketing will be an added advantage
    • At least five (5) years’ experience in a relevant marketing role
    • At least five (3) years’ experience in brand management
    • Excellent interpersonal, and negotiation skills with the ability to network, generate new business and develop strong business relations.
    • Team player with demonstrated work ethics; consistently demonstrates a high level of professionalism.
