    Archivists (Two Positions)

    Qualification

    Must have:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science or Archives and Records Management
    • Three (3) years’ experience as Assistant Librarian or Archivist II
    • Must be computer literate

    OR

    • Must possess a Higher National Diploma Library and Information Science or Archives and Records Management from a recognized institution.
    • Five (5) years’ experience as a Records Officer II/Archivist II in an institution of higher learning.

    Key responsibilities also include

    Reporting to: Director, Examinations

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • In-charge of the Archivist section.
    • Validate and appraise historical documents and archival materials.
    • Create and maintain accessible, retrievable archives and databases, incorporating current advances in electric information storage technology.
    • Provides technical assistance to researchers and interested parties regarding the history and archival collections
    • Responsible for records survey in University departments
    • Develops, maintains, and oversees disposition of all formal records and historical archives pertaining to the work of the University; serves as principal resource and point of contact for inquiries.
    • Co-ordinate the security and proper maintenance of archival records
    • Creates and updates online and hardcopy catalogues of collections.
    • Any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

    Deputy Director, Examinations

    Qualification

    Education, Skills and Experience

     Must have:

    • PhD in relevant area of specialization
    • 3 years’ experience at Grade 11 within MKU or in a similar position in a recognized academic institution.
    • Have demonstrable competence in academic leadership in an academic/research environment;
    • Be a recognized scholar as evidenced by refereed journals publications, university level books as well as project grants and awards;
    • Be registered with, and be active members of professional associations in his/her profession where applicable;

      OR

    • Master’s Degree in a relevant area of specialization
    • A minimum of 5 years of experience at Grade 11 within MKU or at a similar position in a recognized academic institution
    • Have demonstrable competence in academic leadership in an academic/research environment;
    • Be a recognized scholar as evidenced by refereed journals publications, university level books as well as project grants and awards;
    • Be registered with, and be active members of professional associations in his/her profession where applicable;

    Key responsibilities also include

    Reporting to: Director, Examinations

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • Oversee all matters related to examinations
    • Ensure compliance with the university examinations regulations.
    • Oversee processing of quality and standardized university examinations.
    • Plan and coordinate setting, proofreading, moderation, marking and administration of university examinations.
    • Develop a Directorate schedule of activities aligned with the University calendar.
    • Ensure timely procurement of materials for examination processing.
    • Prepare all necessary examination process documents, including submission registers, proofreading registers, and typing allocation registers.
    • Compile a departmental list of units offered based on the approved University workload for all campuses, and request departments to submit their examination materials.
    • Manage the allocation and accountability of all examination drafts issued to administrative assistants for processing.
    • Communicate with departments regarding issues identified in examinations and gaps in submission and proofreading coordination.
    • Oversee the printing of examinations for University campuses and ODEL centers, and coordinate the distribution of ODEL examinations to those locations.
    • Assign online data tasks to administrative assistants for uploading and coordinate the delivery and issuance of examinations to campuses.
    • Advice departments, schools, campuses and senate on matters related to university examinations.
    • Promote best practices of examinations administration.
    • Guide and advice students and staff on matters related to examinations.
    • Induct new staff on matters related to examinations.
    • Organize regular in service training for staff in the directorate.
    • Ensure University examinations are high quality.
    • Safeguard the integrity of examinations in the university.
    • Develop and maintain technologically based ways of processing university examinations.
    • Ensure effective and timely delivery of examinations services.
    • Develop and maintain university examinations bank.
    • Keep examinations records and documents.
    • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Director, Examinations.

    Examinations Officer (Two Positions)

    Qualification

    Education, Skills and Experience

     Must have:

    • Bachelor degree in Business, Administration, Education, Social Sciences of a related field
    • Organized, able to prioritize tasks to meet tight deadlines
    • Three (3) years of related work experience
    • Ability to maintain professionalism in customer service

    Key responsibilities also include

    Reporting to: Director, Examinations

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • Printing of transcripts
    • Issuance of transcripts and certificates to university graduates
    • Verification of graduation lists and records
    • Auditing of examination booklets after the release of examination results.
    • Sorting and issuance of examinations to unit lecturers for administration
    • Examination booklet accountability before and after examinations
    • Generation of Examination attendance registers
    • Update of student records (remarking results, missing marks, attachments, projects and historical marks
