    Head of Africa Fundraising

    About the role

    • As our Head of Africa Fundraising you will lead Ripple Effect International’s fundraising programme in Africa, which generates more than 50% of the charity’s revenue. You will give oversight and leadership to our a network of Programme Funding Managers based in Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Rwanda, and Burundi, with another based in Zambian partner charity.
    • This role will be part of the Africa Senior Management Team for Ripple Effect NGO and will report to the Africa Director in Nairobi. The Head of Africa Fundraising will be accountable for all fundraising within Africa and will also represent the Africa market alongside the senior fundraiser/s in the UK and in the USA.
    • Initially over the first six months, the role will be mentored and supported by the UK based Interim Global Fundraising Director. In keeping with our Africa Forward Together strategy it is envisaged that this role will become the lead spokesperson globally on fundraising, and decision maker on global fundraising matters..
    • The role will require extensive experience in international fundraising, particularly in philanthropic and institutional fundraising.

    • As a dynamic and visionary leader, you will bring strong experience in fundraising and development, particularly within the African context. Your strategic mindset and innovative approach will have consistently driven successful fundraising campaigns, securing significant funding from diverse sources including individual donors, corporate partners, and international organisations.
    • You possess a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within the African fundraising landscape. Your ability to build and nurture strong relationships with stakeholders, coupled with your exceptional communication and negotiation skills, has been instrumental in advancing organisational goals and missions.These skills will be key as you drive growth in Africa fundraising, whilst also building strong stakeholder relationships with the leaders of other fundraising markets, and a global governance approach for Ripple Effect fundraising.
    • Your passion for social impact and community development is evident in your commitment to creating sustainable and impactful programs. You are adept at leveraging data and insights to inform your strategies, ensuring that fundraising efforts are both effective and efficient.

    Finance Business Partner

    About the role

    We are seeking a dynamic Finance Business Partner to provide expert financial guidance and support to key finance and fundraising teams across our organisation. In this pivotal role, you will work closely with the Head of Finance to analyse financial data, You’ll oversee regional financial operations, assist in the preparation of grant funding contracts, and drive efficiency improvements within the finance teams.     The ideal candidate for the Finance Business Partner role will bring strong financial expertise and a strategic mindset with experience of working in an INGO a senior level. They should have a solid background in finance, with excellent analytical skills and advanced proficiency in Excel. The ability to translate complex financial data into clear insights for non-financial teams is essential, as is experience in financial reporting and compliance.

    A proactive problem-solver, the candidate will be skilled in building capacity within teams and have strong interpersonal skills to work across cultures. Commitment to integrity, accountability, and the organisation’s mission is key to success in this role.
