    Marketing Automation Specialist

    The role of a Marketing Operation Specialist at Canonical

    • Canonical has provided developers with open source since 2004, helping them build innovations such as public cloud, machine learning, robotics or blockchain. Marketing at Canonical means being at the forefront of technology adoption, for our customers and for our own martech stack. We’re on the look out for a performance marketing manager to join our team and own our paid strategy.
    • The ideal candidate will be passionate about technology, technology marketing and the use of technology in marketing. You will prefer to work in an environment that has emphasis on ownership of campaigns, collaboration, learning, curiosity and a drive to continually improve oneself / the team / the organisation. You will also love to problem solve, get hands-on, experiment, measure and use automation to make daily life easier.
    • The Marketing team at Canonical drives commercial outcomes for the company across its portfolio of products and grows the addressable market through digital marketing campaigns, lifecycle management, events, partnerships and community development. If these things are important to you and you're motivated by driving growth, delighting customers and filling the sales funnel, we want to talk with you.
    • This role sits in the Marketing team reporting to the Growth Engineering Manager.

    Location: This role will be based remotely in the EMEA region.

    What your day will look like

    • Support marketing team members with strategic expertise, setting up and monitoring Marketo campaigns and automations
    • Monitor overall Marketo performance and health
    • Build on automation and AI to improve lead management
    • Develop Canonical's martech stack to industry leading standard

    What we are looking for in you

    • Advanced proficiency with Marketo
    • Experience in setting up integrations and automations between CRM systems and other platforms
    • Ability to work with at least two of the following languages: Python, JS, SQL, Velocity
    • A solid understanding of lead generation data with reporting experience
    • Experience in data analysis
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills and aptitude for forging trusting relationships across diverse, cross-functional teams
    • Proven ability to prioritise and differentiate what matters from the noise, meeting deadlines without sacrificing quality

    Curriculum Manager

    The role of a Marketing Operation Specialist at Canonical

    • For today's developers and system administrators, Ubuntu is the centrepiece of their valuable professional skills from cloud to containers, from edge to IoT, and in data science and AI. We are building a program to help technical professionals test, certify and showcase their open source abilities. This will be the Canonical Ubuntu version of RHCE, Cisco CNE and similar certifications. Join a fast-paced, global, fully remote team and help set the trajectory of our expanding technical certifications, credentials and future training programmes. This position requires the ability to balance the rigorous methodology of instructional design with the technical experience of an engineer to help create engaging technical curriculum and assessment content.
    • As a Curriculum Manager on the Credentials & Curriculum team, you’ll use your skills as a quick learner and effective communicator to balance an interest in open source communities, operating systems, DevOps and cloud technologies, scripting languages, and git repositories, with a passion for improving assessment and instructional content through  blueprinting, JTA surveys, and SME recruitment and management phases.
    • This role reports to the Skills Certification Lead.

    Location: This role can be held anywhere in the EMEA or Americas time zones / regions.

    What your day will look like

    • Working with stakeholders and cross-teams in analysing instructional design requests to determine technical resource requirements and project needs
    • Creating relevant, engaging, accurate instructional, assessment, and supporting content based on blueprints, JTA surveys, item writing panels, SME guidance, and industry best practices
    • Leading curriculum development efforts and manage multiple development projects through effective Agile techniques, regular meetings, privacy and security procedures, and SME recruitment and
    • engagement to ensure extremely technical content is relevant, appropriately challenging, and offers the highest quality user experience.
    • Act as internal Subject-Matter Expert (SME) for all products in verifying item and item instruction accuracy and determining exam delivery platform, specifications
    • Working with technical vendors and internal teams to manage porting and transferring of content and user data in various internal and vendor-based systems, including GitHub repositories and JIRA

    • Relevant, engaging and accurate instructional design and assessment
    • Industry best practices of exam blueprinting and job task analysis
    • Strong initiative and leadership skills, Agile experience, and security and privacy assessment
    • User-friendly, accessible methods of conveying highly technical information that is  relevant, appropriately challenging, and offers the highest quality user experience.
    • Experience with GitHub repositories,CRMs, and JIRA
    • Curiosity and the drive to learn highly complex technologies rapidly and autonomously in addition to working with SMEs.
