    Guest Relations Fellow

    BOUT THE GUEST RELATIONS FELLOW ROLE

    The Guest Relations Fellow is responsible for designing and executing a fun, interactive and immersive experience for guests at ALX. The role primarily involves offering a holistic view of the ALX community and the work done by those within it to guests. The ideal Guest Relations Fellow will leverage available resources to not only accurately present the ALX identity to guests but also inspire them to create change when they leave. The day to day activities associated with this role include drawing up guest itineraries, coordinating guest activities and attending to all guest needs and queries.

    WHAT YOU’LL NEED

    • Must have a B.A., B.Sc. or higher from a credible university in the last 0-3 years.
    • Demonstrate good organization and time management skills.
    • Express efficient verbal and written communication skills.
    • Show a flexible and adaptable attitude.
    • Ability to create new innovative ways to enhance the guest experience.
    • Ability to manage stakeholders at various levels
    • Knowledge on how to communicate with stakeholders at different levels
    • Ability to keep calm under pressure

    What You'll Do As Employee Experience Fellow

    • Coordinating and constantly improving our on boarding process for new hires and introducing them to the organisation in a manner that is inspiring, energizing and sets them up to be successful.
    • Running our internal communications systems, and thinking through what needs to be communicated and when - fitting this into existing structures or creating new structures as necessary.
    • Work closely with organisation wide team members and manage engagement activities to maintain and increase team morale.
    • Managing in-life processes for employees and act as a champion of People initiatives within the organisation.
    • Coordinating and improving internal people-oriented processes, such as medical aid and pre-arrival, to ensure all team functions have access to the same level of support and information.
    • You will also be involved in special organizational development projects, data analysis and reporting as needed.

    Entrepreneurship Fellow

    About The Entrepreneurship Fellow Role

    As an ALX Entrepreneurship Fellow, you will be part of building our 'Moonshot Factory'. and building the entrepreneurship ecosystem at ALX to support Young Leaders with budding ideas or ventures to turn them into full-fledged businesses. They will keep the spirit of innovation and continuous iteration alive within the ALX space in order to spur the creation of innovative solutions to the continent's most pressing challenges.

    We are looking for mission-driven, passionate entrepreneurs to run and manage the ALX Nairobi hub to sustain the strong start we have established in the program's pilot run.

    What You'll Do As Entrepreneurship Fellow

    • Bring the unique ALX spirit for innovation to life through developing and curating an ecosystem for entrepreneurs to thrive.
    • Conceptualize and create transformational experiences for developing entrepreneurs, as well as bringing a community of change makers together in support of young venture creators.
    • Design workshops to build entrepreneurial skills around design thinking, acquiring investments, scaling up businesses and others.
    • Plan and run operations of entrepreneurship events such as networking sessions, pitch fests, skill-building workshops and other programming.
    • Build partnerships with external stakeholders such as incubators and venture capital firms to offer unique learning experiences to our members.
    • Monitor and evaluate impact, effectiveness and efficiency of the entrepreneurial programming.
    • Support a team of incredibly passionate, talented and diverse people and champion our unique culture.
    • Build systems and processes that contribute to making this type of entrepreneurial support scalable across all of our ALX sites.
    • Other related work to build a strong foundation for ALX.

    What You'll Need

    • An enthusiasm for entrepreneurship training and development, prior experience at a startup or incubator is a plus.
    • Experience in organizing high-end transformational experiences and curating meaningful exchanges.
    • Plugged-in to the local entrepreneurship community.
    • Stellar networking skills and the ability to make smart partnerships happen.
    • Comfortable with uncertainty, changing priorities and a startup environment, but with knowledge and insight to build structure and systems where needed.

    Office Management Fellow

    About The Office Management Fellow Role

    The ALX Office Management Associate is responsible for ensuring that ALX operations related to our people and our hub run like a well-oiled machine. You have strong attention to detail, are passionate about making sure that different parts work well together, and love ensuring that processes and systems are in place.

    What You'll Do As Office Management Fellow

    • Ensure new employees and guests are welcomed and well-integrated into the community.
    • Manage all logistics for new employees (including travel, work permits, system set-up, etc.)
    • Ensure all employee records are appropriately documented and maintained.
    • Ensure employee benefits are executed (such as medical aid, work permits, etc.)
    • Support on driving the employee experience for new and existing employees.
    • Ensure the ALX space is well-maintained â—‹ Manage office supplies (including ordering, tracking and stocking)
    • Coordinate with the Community team on event logistics

    What You'll Need

    • Ability to juggle multiple work streams, while still delivering at a high quality
