    Workshop Manager

    JOB PURPOSE STATEMENT: 
    Manages and motivates all services’ staff and other personnel involved in delivering high level, quality service, and on time delivery of service vehicles in order to ensure growth and expansion to achieve targets.
     
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
    1. Analyze current procedures and activities to identify and present opportunities for improvement of the workshop. 
    2. Ensure that the department is adequately staffed to achieve objectives, and that technicians are aware of procedures for using new products and equipment. 
    3. Facilitate the orientation of new team members in collaboration with the Workshop Supervisor by familiarizing them with work surroundings, explaining work hours, procedures, use of equipment and job expectations and ensure that new team members understand their respective duties.
    4. Maintain good relationships with customers.
    5. Ensure adequate maintenance of tools, equipment and other materials in the Service Area.
    6. Facilitate the training and development of team members in the department, by providing feedback and coaching to support improvements in their job performance.
    7. Conduct annual Performance Appraisal for Workshop Personnel.
    8. Provide advice and technical assistance to team members.
    9. Evaluate the impact of work delays, interruptions or changes in plans to develop appropriate course of actions.
    10. Monitor workflow to anticipate impact of delays due to team members being absent for leaves, holidays or sickness.
    11. Review customers service orders and inspect the quality of a technician repairs before the release of vehicles.
    12. Review work orders to ensure that all actions have been documented according to Service Workshop policies and procedures.
    13. Plan and adjust the workloads of department personnel to match their skills and abilities.
    14. Plan and prepare annual budget for the department and facilities, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions. Follow up closely during implementation.
    15. Coordinate with sales department and arrange for delivery of equipment to customers.
    16. Maintain communication with GM headquarters to obtain security information, report unusual concerns and share new ideas that may contribute to improved Workshop operations.
    SKILLS
    • Experience in the automotive industry
    • 5 years experience managing an automotive workshop, particularly attached to a dealership
    • P&L experience
    • Automotive systems (vehicle layout, function and location of parts)
    • Knowledge of mechanical issues, warranties, service and general repairs
    • Organizational ability
    • Detail oriented
    • Technically competent with ability to train others
    • Customer service ability
    • Energy and drive. 
    • High integrity and professionalism.

    Chief Financial Officer

    JOB SUMMARY:
    This position is responsible for the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
    You will ensure total support is accorded to operations by providing necessary resources in a timely and cost-effective manner.
     
    SCOPE OF THE ROLE:

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Assist in formulating the company's future direction, performance measures and tactical initiatives that support the company's strategic direction.
    • Producing and interpreting accurate & timely financial information i.e. annual/quarterly/monthly reports, statements, accounting records, management accounts and advice the Managing Director on the significance of the same as well as identifying, evaluating and presenting options for decision making.
    • Researching and reporting on factors influencing business performance including analyzing competitors and market trends to formulate counter-strategies.
    • Developing external relationships with appropriate contacts, e.g. auditors, bankers and statutory organizations such as the Kenya Revenue Authority
    • Keeping abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation.
    • Analyze new and existing financial processes to ensure they are carried out in compliance with financial legislation, policies and procedures and adherence to terms of the company.
    • Liaising with auditors to ensure annual monitoring is carried out and responding to auditor’s comments concerning finances and operations and oversee required action to address deficiencies.
    • Coordinate banking services, reconciliation and custody of funds, securities and financial instruments as well as preparing reports which summarize and forecast financial position in areas of levy collections, expenditure and investments.
    • Coordinate and monitor the company’s investment of surplus funds, also devise and implement effective strategies for managing working capital and expenditure programmes.
    • Coordinate the preparation of tax returns to ensure compliance with periodic tax payments, information reporting and other statutory requirements as well providing advice to the Managing Director on effective strategies for minimizing tax liability.
    • Develop and manage accounting and financial systems and maintain full and accurate accounting records.
    • Managing and controlling budgets through monitoring the company’s expenditure trends and provide timely advice and explanation on potential over and under spends to senior management.
    • Participate in key decisions as a member of the senior management team
    Operations
    • Support individual departments in the financial planning and implementation of plans, provide financial advice and guidance to senior management.
    Oversee credit control
    • Manage the accounting, investor relations, legal, tax, and treasury functions and activities
    • Oversee the company's transaction processing systems whilst ensuring operational best practices
    • Oversee employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefits package
    • Supervising staff and motivating staff under him/her
    Risk Management
    • Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile
    • Developing financial management mechanisms that minimize financial risk including constructing and monitoring reliable control systems
    • Maintain appropriate insurance coverage
    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
    • University graduate in Commerce (Finance Option) or other related business degreemaster's degree in accounting or business administration will be n added advantage
    • 7+ Years of progressive experience in Finance,three of which must be in a Chief Accountant/Senior Accountant role preferable in a busy Manufacturing or Production environment.
    • Certified Public Accountant of Kenya CPA (K) or equivalent, ACCA
    • Certified Member of ICPAK or any other professional Body.
