    Contact Center Delivery Lead

    DESCRIPTION
     
    We are pleased to announce the following Position in the Digital IT Department within the Technology Division. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below.

    Reporting to Tech Lead Integration & Contact Center Planning, the position holder will develop, offer technical leadership and delivery for all the Safaricom Contact Center Solutions.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Leading a team of planning engineers in planning and delivery of robust voice and digital contact center platforms while embracing DevOps culture.
    • Providing strategic and architectural guidance in development and implementation of complex, multi-tiered, and distributed applications.
    • Collaborate and liaise with vendors to ensure that services delivered are as per required standards and comply with company policies.
    • Team mentorship and continuous performance management to sustain highly skilled and motivated team members.
    • Lead the adoption of AGILE delivery practices, ensure an engaged and motivated team.
    • Budget planning, budget rollout execution, vendor management, contract compilation & monitoring.
    • Ensure that technical solutions are compliant to all documented Safaricom policies and meet all security standards

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field
    • At least 4 years working experience and technical capabilities in Contact Center Systems Deployment.
    • At least two years in a leadership role or technical leadership responsibility in large projects delivery.
    • Extensive experience with data structures and databases.
    • Solid understanding of web services and cloud platforms.
    • Design and Development of Genesys Routing Applications for Voice and Multi-Channel using Composer / IRD, with knowledge of SCXML and VXML will be of added advantage.
    • Professional experience and knowledge of the telecommunications industry preferred

    Brief Description

    • Reporting to the Billing Engineering Lead- Revenue Management, the position holder will work with the Revenue management; product development team to design, configure and deploy new products and services.
    • He/ She will be expected to guarantee quality through proper configurations, user acceptance testing and advice on improvements on customer experience and journey.  
    • He /She will also carry out Operational activities to support the platform and the customer needs.

    Detailed Description

    Overall, the product development engineer will be charged with:

    • Participate in Product development life cycle activities .
    • Operation and Maintenance Activities
    • Reviews and contribute to the test cases, based on the services in scope.
    • Execution of SITs and supporting the UATS of new products & services
    • Ensuring quality and accuracy and that all customer related issues have been addressed.
    • Deep understanding of customer operations.
    • Passion to work with the team members
    • Automation of processes.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • A degree in IT, computer science, Telecommunication or Electrical Engineering
    • 3 years working as an engineer in a telecommunications environment (vendor or operator)
    • strong Linux/Unix skills,
    • Strong database skills
    • Software development skills; Java or python programming
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Team player.
    • Organized and detail oriented.
    • Experience of Huawei Convergent Billing System (CBS) will be an added advantage
    • Knowledge of GSM technologies

    Innovation Engineering Lead

    Detailed Description

    Reporting to the  Research and Design Tech Lead, the position holder is  responsible for scouting, developing & testing prototypes & piloting, refining and adopting new technologies to solve current problems, improving operation efficiencies and to create new platforms to support new business opportunities. Working with partners, Project teams, Squads as well as virtual IT delivery teams to implement various projects and business deliverables. Break down complex requirements into simple trackable tasks. Be committed to high quality output and delivery on time.

    The main duties are:

    • Scout new technologies and vendors to enable innovation and identify technical enablers
    • Developing and testing prototypes
    • Piloting, refining and adopting new technologies and partner solutions
    • Responsible for Solutions Design and specifications with Quarterly target focus
    • Research and advisory on new technology and global trends
    • Support setting up of crowdsourcing initiatives to generate innovative ideas and concepts
    • Coordinate with other engineers, management and partners on research and design work
    • Coordinate and Develop Research Hubs with Academic Institutions.
    • Team Leadership where applicable

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Responsible for all Domain business projects by resourcing and leading virtual teams across IT
    • Responsible for delivering 95% of the projects on time
    • Responsible for ensuring project stability within max 48 hours
    • Ensure agile is implemented in at least 50% of the projects
    • Maintain an accurate registry of all business projects  with various statuses and ensure business teams are appraised at all times
    • Align with business product leads & PMO on project KPI’s, milestones and timelines

    Leadership:

    • Attend business strategy meetings to ensure IT is aligned with business needs
    • Regular team and one-on-one engagements
    • Build the team skillset according to the fit for future program
    • Team performance management
    • Provide budget inputs for business solutions.
    • Attend BU strategy sessions
    • Weekly Delivery reporting to BU HoDs and Senior Managers on the status of their deliverables

    Business Analysis:

    • Responsible for gathering, detailing and documenting all business requirements
    • Ensure sensible consensus is reached for all requirements/specifications and help business, IT, CXX, Revenue Assurance and test leads to have the same mutual understanding
    • Ensure test plans cover all aspects of Business Requirements and existing business rules

    Solutions Design:

    • Responsible for Solutions Design to meet business requirements and non-functional requirements
    • Drive reuse on all technical and business functionality designed and no duplication of business components
    • Collaboratively oversee the development/configuration of solutions as per agreed designs
    • Provide solution architecture input into all new system tenders

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Degree in Science/computer science/Engineering/Business related.
    • Certification in Business Analysis & Agile Project Management will be an added advantage
    • Strong business acumen and mindset – with knowledge of Human Centered Design
    • 5+ years of technical experience in a busy IT development environment, 2 years of which must include experience in designing systems and solutions.
    • 3+ years’ Experience in Technical Leadership of large IT projects
    • Team player who is skilled at building up and managing stakeholder relationships successfully
    • Ability to persuade stakeholders and to champion effective techniques through delivery
    • Ability to drive initiatives without any formal authority in an ambiguous environment
    • A curious and innovative mind that built things.
