    Deputy Project Director, Information and Media Practice

    Your Background & Skills

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field required, master’s degree preferred.
    • Minimum 5+ years of progressive job experience.
    • Excellent ability to communicate effectively on the technical aspects of implementation with a wide variety of stakeholders.
    • Proven track of working effectively with other projects, media and civil society, high-level host country host government counterparts, and other international partners.
    • Must possess the technical, managerial and communication skills to assume all related responsibilities of the COP position on a full-time basis if needed.
    • Effective oral and written communication credentials.
    • Very good command of English language is required.
    • Strong representation and organization skills.
    • A level of education combined with your professional experience will adequately show you can contribute meaningfully to the role.
    • Demonstrated skills in methodically solving problems in fast-paced environments.
    • Proficient in all Microsoft and FOSS productivity software.
    • Outstanding interpersonal and intercultural skills.
    • Very strong time management, multitasking, and organizational skills;
    • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and/or,
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and/or,
    • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
    • Familiarity with Center for Internet Security, Critical Security Controls (CIS CSC v8) or at least one industry-recognized security framework like NIST, ISO27000, and/or CSO community-driven SAFETAG framework.
    • Strong interpersonal skills as well as experience developing solid professional relationships.
    • A record of success as a forward-leaning, entrepreneurial, and adaptive leader within organizations
    • Broad experience designing and delivering remote or in-person assistance and training.
    • Experience servicing global beneficiaries and organizations of different missions, sizes, and mandates.
    • You must have unrestricted authorization to work in a country where this role is based.

    Your Daily Tasks

    • Responsible for day-to-day program administration, including managing all field-based staff.
    • Lead technical implementation and guide the DS360 Project phase 3 as a whole, alongside Project Director/Senior Technical Advisor II.
    • Responsible for beneficiary and donor relationships including field staff beneficiary management and communications.
    • Assist Project Director/Senior Technical Advisor II with new business development and internal (IREX) project collaboration with other organizational programs and functions.
    • Support the Project Director/Senior Technical Advisor II in budgeting, costs, and compliance issues as needed.
    • Other support duties as needed.

    Program Coordinator, Leadership Practice

    Your Background & Skills

    • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
    • Minimum of 2 years' relevant work experience.
    • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Teams, PowerPoint, and Excel).
    • Experience collaborating with teams and across multiple organizations on a common project.
    • Experience coordinating and managing aspects of virtual, global collaborations and partnerships across multiple time zones.
    • Demonstrated adaptability, flexibility, and ability to respond to challenges and opportunities that arise with any new program.
    • Ability to work independently and as a team member with consistent ability to take initiative.
    • Proven organizational and time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks, including the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
    • Strong communication and writing skills in English, with a high degree of attention to detail.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and cross-cultural communication skills.
    • Ability to provide reliable customer service to diverse stakeholders, such as funders, non-profit partners, and program participants.
    • Experience with philanthropy preferred, but not required.
    • Regional experience in Africa.
    • Availability for occasional travel.
    • Must demonstrate valid proof of unrestricted work authorization in Kenya.

    Your Daily Tasks

    •  Supporting the recruitment and selection of approximately 10 ACLFP non-profit partners (“host organizations”) and program participants (“Fellows”) by participating in recruiting and selection calls, inbox management, and project management.
    • Supporting the management and execution of the ACLFP program launch in fall 2024, assisting with event logistics, travel booking and logistics, and producing event materials and resources as needed.
    • On an ongoing basis, managing day-to-day operations of assigned program components, including but not limited to assisting in arranging virtual event logistics, providing fellow support and supporting the delivery of training sessions.
    • Supporting communications with program participants, alumni, and partners – funders, non-profit partners, educational partners, and recruiting partners. 
    • Assisting in developing and tracking traditional and social media communications content as needed. 
    • Assisting in drafting correspondence for stakeholders with approval from the supervisor.
    • Contributes effectively to internal meetings.  
    • Supporting the accurate reconciliation of program expenses each month per corporate credit card protocols. Work with program partners and participants, including communicating program updates, answering questions, assisting with logistics, and notetaking for calls/meetings.
    • Supporting partner and vendor procurement processes, including managing and processing subawards and contracts as assigned.
    • Representing IREX, the Leadership Practice, and the Climate Talent Initiative both within and outside of IREX.
    • Other duties as assigned.
