Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the trial in compliance with study protocol and international GCP standards
• Chair in-country field management meetings
• Prepare standard operating procedures and protocols
• Manage submission of protocol amendments to SERU, and other ethics committees as required.
• Ensure ethical compliance and coordinate applications across multiple ethics committees
• Develop research protocols, SOPs, and CRFs with the research team
• Implement and supervise pre-clinical and clinical research projects
• Conduct regular site visits for study setup, monitoring, and close-out
• Supervise, train, and appraise staff under direct supervision
• Contribute to result dissemination through reports, publications, and presentations

Vacancy Requirements:

• At least four (4) years relevant work experience, with at least 3 years of clinical trial research experience in field-based research in Kenya or sub-Saharan Africa.    Mandatory

Key Responsibilities:

• Obtaining informed consent and enrolment of participants into study;
• Explaining study procedures to eligible participants;
• Obtains medical history and performs physical examination;
• Offers individual, group and family counseling to participants and patients;
• Confirms eligibility for all study participants;

• Ensure proper storage of specimen material;
• Ensure all specimens are labeled appropriately and logged in appropriately;
• Ensure proper labelling, tracking and recording of all specimens in the laboratory;
• Culture of feacal samples for isolation of bacteria;

• Molecular characterization of bacteria and perform Elisa assays;

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of maternal health research studies, including stakeholder engagement, study setup, and field activities across multiple sites.
• Oversee regulatory compliance, including obtaining approvals, managing protocol amendments, and SAE submissions.
• Develop and review study protocols, case report forms (CRFs), and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Recruit, train, and supervise study staff, including clinicians and nurses, on clinical protocols.
