    Regional Supply Chain Officer

    Regional Supply Chain Officer

    The Supply Chain Officer is responsible for the buying/sourcing and shipping of goods/ services within ESA Regional Office and Country offices, managing requests and relations for a complex portfolio of programmes across ESA Country offices. The Supply Chain Officer will also support the SCI RO Supply Chain Coordinator in supply market research and analysis, running quotations / tenders and setting up Contracts or Framework Agreements for key supplies and services to ensure value for money is achieved through best in sector sourcing strategies and Procurement processes. This role also includes facility management and general office administration responsibilities.

    In order to be successful, you will bring/have:

    Essential/Desired

    • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain management / Procurement or equivalent
    • Professional certification in procurement (e.g. CIPS)
    • Training in Medical logistics - strong advantage
    • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience working in Supply Chain / Procurement, preferably in an NGO/and/or development program,
    • In- depth experience in managing complex procurement / sourcing processes and supplier relationships
    • Experience in use of end to end ERP systems e.g. SAP Ariba
    • Knowledge of procurement processes, rules and regulations in the INGO/UN System
    • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching.
    • Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
    • Ability and willingness to dramatically change work practices and hours, and work with incoming surge teams, in the event of emergencies.
    • Willingness to undertake field travel as required and work in difficult environments according to travel environments
    • Fluency in written and spoken English
    • Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children's aims, values and principles

    Contract duration: 1 year(renewable)

    Location: Eastern and Southern Africa Regional Office - Nairobi

    Project Coordinator - East Africa Migration Route Project

    Project Coordinator - East Africa Migration Route Project Regional Component

    The Project Coordinator for the East Africa Migration Route (EAMR) Project Regional Component is the main focal point of the East and Southern Africa Regional Office's Regional Programme Unit (RPU) for the implementation of the EAMR components seated with the RPU.

    The EAMR Project's Implementation Phase is a 34 month, CHF 10m multi-country, multi-region project focused on protecting children and young people on the move along the East Africa Migration Route, from Ethiopia through Sudan to Egypt. The project includes significant regional components aimed on advocacy and systems strengthening work and the Project Coordinator is responsible for their effective, timely and successful implementation.

    In order to be successful, you will bring/have:

    Essential

    • 5 years of experience in coordinating or managing large scale projects, experience of managing regional or multi-country projects a distinct advantage;
    • Strong awareness of child protection issues in the area of migration and displacement;
    • Solid understanding of child protection issues in the East and Horn of Africa region;
    • Strong verbal and written English communication skills, including experience in report writing;
    • Experience of solving complex issues through analysis, developing clear strategic vision, and ensuring buy in from stakeholders;
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
    • Strong ability to inspire participation and building productive, collegial relationships;
    • Willingness to travel to support Country Offices and Partners in the implementation of activities;
    • Commitment to Save the Children values, including willingness to abide by and enforce the Child Safeguarding and other relevant policies.

    Desired

    • Experience developing projects in the development and humanitarian sector;
    • Experience in working in regional and multi-country settings, including conducting research in multiple countries.
    • Experience in research activities and training skills

    Regional Supply Chain Manager - ESA

    Regional Supply Chain Manager

    As a key member of the Regional Team, you will be implementing Save the Children's strategic approach to Supply Chain Management in the Southern Africa Region, identifying, and building the capacity of Supply Chain staff within the region.

    You will work with Country Offices to build their Supply Chain and operational capacity to plan and manage their Supply Chains, fleets and assets efficiently and effectively, ensuring that programmes meet their commitments and are accountable to their beneficiaries and donors. You will be providing technical support to Country Supply Chain Leads and Focal points on all aspects of Supply Chain and operational programme delivery, in order to improve KPIs, reduce operational costs and improve the quality and timeliness of projects.

    In order to be successful, you will bring/have:\

    Essential

    • A Degree in in related area, Master level degree will be an advantage.
    • CIPS or equivalent professional certification
    • Extensive experience (5 years) in managing supply chain function in a Country and/or Regionally
    • Supply chain management in Humanitarian and development programmes including procurement, transport, warehouse and stock management and distribution
    • Experience in setting up fleet management systems including planning, monitoring running costs, pooling, developing replacement strategies.
    • Experience in developing staff skills and expertise.
    • Knowledge and experience of working with major institutional donors, and understanding to their rules and regulations.
    • Ability to evaluate Supply Chain structures in complex environments in order to devise appropriate and creative solutions to problems faced
    • Excellent computer skills, experienced in Microsoft offices systems, including PowerPoint, Excel and word
    • Willingness to travel 50% of the time to attend meetings, carry out programme visits and assessments and assist as needed in emergency response
    • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.
    • Experience in technical programme support in areas of construction, distribution, medical supply chain, water and sanitation
    • Previous experience working for Save the Children International or members or equivalent
    • Membership of Professional body in Supply Chain management

    Desired

    • Experience in programme Supply Chain such as construction, water and sanitation
    • Masters in Supply Chain, Supply Chain Management or similar level qualification.
    • Added advantage in knowledge of other working languages i.e. French, Portuguese.

    Contract duration: 2 years (Renewable)
