    Sales Team Leader

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Managing the team to hit sales targets and achieve company growth.
    • Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands the company’s customer base and ensures its strong presence.
    • Own recruiting, objectives setting, coaching and performance monitoring of sales representatives.
    • Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs.
    • Present sales, revenue and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the management team.
    • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status.
    • Update the commercial management team about your team performance promptly while coming up with solutions to the team challenges
    • Gathering market and customer information
    • Representing the organization at trade exhibitions, events, and demonstrations
    • Setting individual sales targets with the sales team and performance sales monitoring
    • Meeting planned sales goals
    • In charge of the sales team and ensuring teamwork
    • Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

    Key Requirements: 

    • Minimum Bachelor’s in Business Administration / Sales/ Marketing
    • Five or more years of experience in managing a sales team (primarily in the sale of B-to-B Chemicals and Fertilizers) and business development.
    • Experience in highly interchangeable commodities industry and not specialty products industry.
    • Good global understanding of sourcing operations, aware of the risk elements that affect  the commodity business and has a clear understanding of what is important to such a business.
    • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills.
    • Demonstrated sales/business development capabilities.
    • Proven record of success with the entire sales process, from planning to closing and in business development
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
    • Enjoys being in the chasing sales and accompanying other team members.
    • Superb team leadership ability
    • Ability to flourish in a highly competitive environment.

    Operations Manager

    Key Responsibilities

    • Maintain constant communication with field coordinators to ensure proper operations of the company
    • Support and work with field coordinators to ensure;
      1. All products are prepared and dispatched to field agents in a timely and effective manner
      2. All unused materials are returned and received from the field agents accordingly
      3. Timely liaison and coordination with sub-county education officers to align on distribution dates and locations of products.
      4. Coordination of dispatch, distribution, and collection of products from sub-county education offices.
      5. All products get to schools safely and none is lost.
      6. Daily and constant communication with field agents to ensure they are carrying out quality work and remain motivated.
      7. Coordination and planning of field agents’ school visits accordingly to ensure field agents are carrying out timely work.
      8. Coordination with People Operations to ensure we have optimal numbers of field agents.
      9. Coordination with the Social Behaviour change team to monitor field agents’ work
    • Supervision of field coordinators work by;
      1. Reviewing their daily activities with relation to field agents and spot-checking on field agents through random calls or other avenues.
      2. Reviewing their field reports.
      3. Accompanying them during field supervision visits.
    • Monitoring of field agents’ work through thorough data review and conducting field supervision visits to identify areas of improvement and retraining.
    • Training of field agents on Operation processes, data collection and best practices
    • Coming up with procedures and systems to ensure field agents are retrained on areas where gaps and weaknesses have been noted.
    • Reviewing and signing off on Field Coordinators’ requisitions to ensure teams stick to budgets and there is no over-expenditure or fraud.
    • Be in charge of improving field operations processes, systems and best practices by increasing their efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Management and Preparation of monthly budgets and forecasts
    • Formulate quarterly strategies and objectives for your team as well as monitor and review of the same.
    • Recruit, train, and supervise Field coordinators.

    Key Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
    • 2 or more years of proven work experience as an Operations manager or similar role.
    • 2 or more years experience in fieldwork and willingness to travel to the field for extended periods.
    • Strong people management and organizational skills.
    • Strong leadership, active listening, social, writing, and presentation skills
    • Experience in data review
    • Strong personal and professional judgment, which are invaluable skills for a role that makes hiring decisions as well as in finding the best solution to organizational dilemmas
    • Ability to think and work at scale.
    • Excellent ability to delegate tasks while maintaining organizational control
    • A high level of integrity
    • A great team player and communicator
    • Experience using CRM’s software such as Salesforce and mobile data collection forms such as taro works is a plus
