    Software Engineering Lead- Cloud

     

    Responsibilities

    This is a broad cross-team role with high visibility. You will collaborate closely with multiple teams across Microsoft to deliver key customer solutions and the technology to support them.

    • Lead design and implementation of the future architecture for highly scalable, durable, low latency identity management systems.
    • Build an effective and agile development organization using industry leading best practices.
    • Lead the definition of requirements, KPIs, priorities and planning of engineering deliverables.
    • Mentor and grow team members.

    Qualifications

    • 10+ years of professional software development experience

    Machine Learning Engineer - MSAI

    Responsibilities

    • Working with a team of researchers, applied scientists and engineers, you will be responsible for all stages of the research & development cycle including early ideation, design, implementation, scaling it internationally and finally ensuring that our live is stable and healthy.
    • The implementations typically involve writing scalable, distributed, and highly efficient components and shipping large-scale backend services.
    • Instill best practices for software development and documentation, ensure designs meet requirements as well as adhering to all the privacy and compliance guidelines in handling critical user data.
    • Collaborating with other engineers to build demos and apps to be able to contribute new ideas.

    Qualifications

    • BS or MS degree in Computer Science (or related fields like Electronic Engineering, Physics or Mathematics).
    • Knowledge of data structures and algorithms and algorithm optimizations.
    • Experience in developing or applying predictive analytics, statistical modelling, data mining, or machine learning algorithms.
    • Hands-on experience with an object-oriented programming language such as C++, C#, Java or Python.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Software design and development experience with backend services.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal communication and collaboration skills.
    • Passion for learning and ramping up on new technologies and codebases.
    • Data driven decision making.

    Senior Software Engineering Manager

    Responsibilities
     

    • Build a diverse team and help the engineers to work towards Microsoft’s vision following the company culture.
    • Grow a high-performing team where each team member feels the impact of their work.
    • Coach, model and care the team to ensure each team member feels belong to the team.
    • Deliver new features for various Azure services to meet customers’ needs.
    • Improve the fundamentals of Azure services to ensure performance, scalability and reliability.
    • Participate in full lifecycle of an Azure service including development, release, live-site and customer support to ensure service quality and drive customer satisfaction.
    • Work together with teams in Redmond to ensure business continuity.
    • Partner with other remote teams to build global developer services.

    Qualifications

    • 10+ years of software development experience
    • 2+ years of experience in managing engineering teams
    • Strategic thinking and ability to multi-task while balancing short term and long-term needs are essential
    • Rich experience in building distributed systems or highly scalable online services
    • Experience in cloud computing platform such as Azure and AWS preferred
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • BS/MS degree in computer science or equivalent

    Duration: 3 months

    • Applies engineering principles to solve complex problems through sound and creative engineering.
    • Quickly learns new engineering methods and incorporates them into his or her work processes.
    • Seeks feedback and applies internal or industry best practices to improve his or her technical solutions.
    • Demonstrates skill in time management and completing software projects in a cooperative team environment.

    Qualifications

    • Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, computer science or related field.
    • Must have at least one additional quarter/semester of school remaining following the completion of the internship*
    • One year of programming experience in an object-oriented language (C, C#, C++, Java, Python).
    • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms.
    • For these roles we are only able to consider individuals studying at universities in Kenya.
    • We are focusing on individuals planning to conclude studying (having final graduation) in 2023.
