    Wood – Bamboo Furniture Production Supervisor

    JOB PURPOSE:

    Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Bamboo Furniture Production Supervisor to join their team.

    The ideal candidate will oversee the production of high-quality bamboo furniture, ensuring efficiency,quality control, and adherence to sustainable practices. This role is crucial in supporting our mission to promote eco-friendly products and sustainable forestry practices

    KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Production Management: Supervise the entire production process of bamboo furniture, from raw material procurement to final product.
    • Quality Control: Implement and maintain stringent quality control measures to ensure all products meet industry standards.
    • Team Supervision: Lead, train, and manage a team of skilled workers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
    • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring the timely availability of materials and supplies.
    • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance production efficiency and product quality.
    • Safety Compliance: Ensure all production activities comply with health and safety regulations.
    • Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on production activities, highlighting achievements and areas for improvement.
    • Schedules, assigns, and plans the work of carpentry shop personnel performing a variety of carpentry projects.
    • Responsible for job card allocation and job cards flow in the workshop including job scheduling and labour allocation for day-to-day workshop operations.
    • Regularly report progress on each job and quickly communicate delays or concerns with the client.
    • Plan and develops work schedules, equipment’s usage schedules, priority of workshop expenditures and procedures for equipment maintenance.
    • Develop workshop Standard Operating Procedures.
    • Any other duty assigned by the supervisor.

    Requirements
    Required Skills

    • Knowledge of sustainable production practices.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Language: Proficiency in English and Swahili.

    • Knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the carpentry trade.
    • Supervisory skills.
    • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and technologies.

    Qualifications

    • Education: Diploma or degree in Art and Design, Woodwork Technology, or a related field.

    Finance Manager - Manufacturing

    Job Overview:

    Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Manager to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of experience in finance, including at least 3 years in a managerial role. As a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and a holder of CPAK, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of our manufacturing operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and contributing to strategic decision-making.

    Key Responsibilities:

    ·  Financial Management:

    • Develop financial strategies and manage budgets, forecasts, and plans.
    • Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and recommend improvements.
    • Oversee cash flow, treasury functions, and regulatory compliance.

    ·  Leadership and Team Management:

    • Lead and develop a finance team, fostering accountability and teamwork.
    • Set performance goals, conduct evaluations, and address issues promptly.

    ·  Strategic Planning and Analysis:

    • Provide financial guidance for decision-making and assess risks and opportunities.
    • Track performance with KPIs and lead accurate budgeting and forecasting.

    ·  Tax Compliance:

    • Ensure tax regulation compliance and coordinate with advisors to optimize planning.
    • Oversee accurate and timely tax return preparation.

    ·  Working Capital Management:

    • Optimize working capital by managing receivables, payables, and inventory.
    • Monitor cash flow and improve cash conversion cycle efficiency.

    ·  Supplier and Bank Relationships:

    • Manage supplier relationships and negotiate terms to optimize procurement.
    • Handle banking relationships, credit facilities, and cash management.

    ·  Risk Management:

    • Assess and mitigate financial risks with strategies and internal controls.
    • Develop risk management policies to protect assets and ensure continuity.

    ·  Internal Controls:

    • Maintain strong internal controls and conduct audits to prevent fraud and errors.
    • Implement improvements based on audit findings.

    ·  Audit:

    • Facilitate internal and external audits, ensuring compliance and providing documentation.
    • Implement audit recommendations and monitor corrective actions.

    ·  Additional Duties:

    • Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

    Requirements

    Qualifications:

    • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Master's degree in Finance or an MBA is a plus.
    • Professional Certification: CPAK certification is mandatory. Membership in ICPAK is required.
    • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in finance, with at least 4 years in a managerial role within a manufacturing environment.
    • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of IFRS, Kenyan tax laws, and financial regulations. Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
    • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and develop a finance team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
