    Managing Director - Equity Afia

    Description

    • The Equity Afia Managing Director will be responsible for the overall performance of Equity Afia Franchised clinics and will be charged with providing operational leadership to realize growth and sustainability of the clinics.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Formulate Equity Afia expansion strategy to meet EQA’s access aspirations.
    • Execute the Equity Afia brand standards delivery to ensure quality and affordability.
    • Execute revenue generation and cost reduction strategies including central procurement.
    • Drive business development and marketing strategies and activity and leading the implementation of Equity Afia’s marketing plans and activities for overall business growth.
    • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the management team so as to ensure delivery of corporate objectives.
    • Act as an escalation point for all operational issues and take suitable action by interfacing with the concerned stakeholders to obtain timely resolutions.
    • Relationship building and management of various stakeholders and partners including EGF, EBKL, Franchisees, Corporate and individual clients and other key stakeholders.
    • Monitor the existing business portfolio and new accounts performance.
    • Identifying, implementing and benchmarking best practices in health sector business management.

    Key Deliverables:

    • Stewardship for Equity Afia quality of care, affordability and access initiatives.
    • Strengthening and safeguarding operational management, financial sustainability and scalability of Equity Afia clinics.
    • Growing the market share, brand growth & visibility.
    • Leadership in business development & expansion strategy.
    • Risk mitigation and management
    • Culture, reporting, Corporate Governance – Developing, recommending, and fostering the values, culture, and philosophy of Equity Afia & Equity Group Foundation
    • Relationship Management - Representing Equity Afia externally to customers, community, media, other organizations and all key stakeholders.
    • Regulatory & Compliance – Facilitating strict compliance to statutory & regulatory norms of process/operational adherence.

    Qualifications
     
    Academic & Professional Qualifications & Skills

    • MBA, MPH, M.Sc., PhD in Healthcare/ Business Management field.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Health, Business Studies, Commerce, Marketing, Communications, Economics & related fields
    • A track record of high performance in health sector.
    • Commitment to results, business savvy, leading change, and motivating.

    Relevant Experience

    • At least Eight (8) years leading a high performing company preferably providing retail outpatient care or healthcare services.
    • High level commercial experience, exposure and hands on skill
    • Possess strong business development competency & experience, with strong commercial understanding, proven leadership skills.
    • Excellent team leadership & interpersonal skills
    • Possess the ability to build personal relationships with key business stakeholders and have distinguished hands-on operational skills.

    Chief Nurse

    Description
     
    The chief nurse shall be responsible for spearheading establishment of Equity Afia spoke level facilities while supporting upscaling of high quality, affordable and standardized services across the Equity Afia network.
    He/she shall be responsible for:

    • Ensuring excellent and quality patient experience of care that is safe and inspires confidence to the Equity Afia brand across the entire network of facilities
    • Developing, maintaining, and implementing nursing policies and procedures that conform to current standards of nursing practice and operational policies while maintaining compliance with National laws and regulations.
    • Support upscaling of Equity Afia service offering and provide guidelines in the integration of RMNCAH services into new and existing clinics
    • Supporting and strengthening Equity Afia health promotion, and disease prevention initiatives and campaigns
    • Lead in the development and implementation of patient safety strategies in in line with National patient safety guidelines
    • Support Equity Afia total quality management for nursing and clinical services
    • Support health sector engagements with nurses in various aggregating groups including professional associations and healthcare institutions.

     
    Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing or diploma in nursing with over 10 years’ experience in clinical practice.
    • MBA/MPH/MSC Health systems is an added advantage
    • Training or hands on experience with total quality management in health
    • Registration with the Nursing council and possession of valid retention certificate and valid practicing license

    Desired Experience

    • Front line experience in Nursing and Health care standards and programs
    • Experience in nursing administration/supervision
    • Demonstrated a high degree of professional competencies as well as broad administration/ management experience
    • Excellent report writing skills
    • Ability and experience in managing multiple work streams in health sector.

    Chief Pharmacist

    Description
     
    The Chief Pharmacist shall lead pharmaceutical sector engagements for Equity Group Foundation with a focus on EGF partnerships, Equity Afia, and the pharmaceutical value chain – global & local pharmaceutical companies, importers and distributors, stakeholders and regulators in the sector (S)he shall be responsible for:

    • Taking lead in supporting EGF Health in developing a strategic roadmap to address needs in health products and technologies across program areas.
    • Taking lead in supporting EGF Health engagements with the pharmaceutical industry players and partners
    • Supporting Equity Afia to strengthen, fully centralize and consolidate supply and procurement of pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical products for Equity Afia network across the region
    • Ensuring that EGF Health & Equity Afia pharma practice adheres to existing regulations and guidelines of the Pharmacy & Poisons Board (PPB) and other relevant regulators within the region.
    • Provides expert pharmaceutical advice to support Equity Afia in consistently ensuring that staff and medicines are managed and compliant with legal and professional regulations, ensuring the safe, high quality and effective use of medicines.
    • Strengthen existing policies, procedures, rules, and protocols for pharmacy practice within Equity Afia.

     
    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in pharmacy
    • Master of pharmacy, MBA, MPH, MSc Health Systems
    • MSC project planning or PMP an added advantage
    • Experience in pharmaceutical production/manufacture process
    • Solid understanding of pharma go-to market strategy, evolving regulatory framework & market trends in Pharma industry
    • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in industry

    Desired Experience

    • Ability and experience in managing multiple work streams in health sector.
    • Understanding of regional legislation, regulations, requirements and reference sources for safe and effective production and distribution of pharmaceutical products.
    • Possess a consistently valid practicing license
    • At least Five years of experience in a management/ supervisory role.
    • Strong organizational, engagement, networking skills
    • Strong customer service orientation, communication & reporting skills.
