    Collections Lead

    Job Summary

    To manage the country's collection portfolio, recommend and implement remedial action to minimise the loss by collecting all monies owed to the organisation.

    Job Details

    Critical Deliverables /Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities

    • Conducts a daily review of the loan book arrears position and advice management on the progress of recovery of all deduction at source loans in arrears.
    • Monitor and coordinate all collections activities for loans at the different branches within the region in line with collections policy.
    • Initiates and monitors the transfer of the non-performing loan portfolio in liaison with the country Head of Risk.
    • Prepares the authorization documents with appropriate documentation for approval or decision making on realization of the bad debts.
    • Identifies and advise on all delinquent accounts that require legal proceedings on a regular basis.
    • Prepares monthly reports such as portfolio health and advice the Head of Risk.
    • Management of key stakeholders (DAS Employers etc)
    • Managing EDCs and the Collections Call center
    • Advise on best practice on the collections and tracing procedures.

    Requirements

    Position Requirements

     Education

    • Bachelor’s degree Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, 

    Experience 

    • At least 7 years’ experience in collections within Financial Services 

    Knowledge

    • Understanding of the business drivers and the strategic direction the group and role of risk management in achieving objectives
    • Hands on experience with collections system

    Skills

    • Ability to communicate at all levels.
    • Ability to come up with new ideas and a fresh respective.
    • Ability to communicate both written and orally with all levels of the organisation/external parties.
    • Planning & Organising 
    •  Ability to deliver results and meeting customer (internal and external) expectations

    Credit Risk Manager

    Job Summary

    To drive the execution of credit risk strategies that optimize the subsidiary’s credit portfolios from a reward versus risk perspective while balancing capital constraints and market sensitivity to levels of non-performing debt.

    Job Details

    Critical Deliverables /Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities

    • Ensure efficient implementation and compliance with Letshego’s policies, procedures relating to credit risk, including for provisioning, write offs and arrears management.
    • Prepare monthly reports on country management of arrears and compliance. 
    • Make recommendations for Country write offs. 
    • Monitor progress on issuing and serving summons’ on debtors.
    • Provide recommendations on achieving set loan book performance and impairments practices.
    • Ensure that all loans and lending procedures comply with applicable regulations.
    • Analyse new customer’s credit worthiness

    Requirements

    Position Requirements

     Education

    • A degree in finance / Information Systems /Economics or similar
    • Experience in credit management gained in Consumer Finance, retail SME or microfinance   environment

     Experience 

    • At least 7 years’ experience in Credit Risk within Financial Services 

    Knowledge

    • Knowledge of local laws, rules and regulations
    • Understanding of credit risk strategies to maximise benefit from opportunities that arise to give some input to upside benefits to the business. 
    • Hands on experience with credit risk management systems

    Skills

    • Ability to analyze and monitor country credit risks that face the business. 
    • Ability to devise solutions relevant to a particular situation considering the specific circumstances, country laws and norms
    • Quality Assurance of all loan portfolios

    Internal Audit Officer

    Job Summary

    Required to provide independent and objective assurance on the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes to add value and improve organization's operations.

    Job Details

    Key Responsibilities

    • Contribute in conducting risk assessment for and planning for assigned audit assignments.
    • Provide assurance on effectiveness and efficiency of control environment, risk management and compliance to LKL policies and procedures and relevant regulatory requirements.
    • Support with carrying out IT audits.
    • Identify controls and process weaknesses, identify the root causes and issue practical recommendations to address the observed control weaknesses.
    • Review and evaluate the system of internal controls and assess their adequacy and effectiveness in managing risk and propose value adding recommendations for improvements.
    • Provide assurance that organization's objectives and goals will be achieved efficiently and effectively.
    • Maintain respectful and effective communication and relationships with key stakeholders.
    • Present to the area management the results, recommendations and conclusions of the audit reviews.
    • Analyze operational and management processes and system controls effectiveness and efficiency in view to improve them and propose value adding recommendations.
    • Document the results of audit work in accordance with internal audit guidelines and the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) standards.

    Requirements

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Business, IT, or Business Related field from a university recognized by Commission for University Education.
    • Possession of professional qualifications such as CIA, CPA or ACCA a must.
    • CISA qualification is an added advantage.
    • Proficiency in the use of audit management software such as Team Mate.

    Experience:

    • A minimum 2 years' experience in external audit or internal audit in financial services industry with hands on experience in auditing business units and I.T, credit process, digital products and regulatory compliance.
    • Detail-oriented, organized and good time manager with excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Strong Business acumen and Data Analytics skills.
