Job Purpose Statement
Enterprise Data Management ("EDM") is a process that seeks to ensure Data in NCBA Group PLC is accurate and consistent to meet the strategic and business goals. "EDM" has eight key capabilities i) Data Architecture (DA); ii) Data retention & archiving (DRA); iii) Data quality management (DQM); iv) Metadata management ("MM"); v) Master data Management (MDM); vi) Data privacy & security (DPS) vii) Business Intelligence and Analytics (BIA) and viii) Data governance.
The Data Engineer transforms data into a format that can be easily analyzed, by developing, maintaining, and testing infrastructures for data generation. In addition, the data engineer uses various data extraction, transformation and loading tools to convert raw data into usable information while applying best practice data warehousing techniques.
The Data Engineer is responsible for the following:

•  Develop, maintaining, testing, evaluating and implementing data solutions in line with the data architecture design.
•  Creation, scheduling, testing, deployment, and maintenance, of data pipeline from different sources to required destination with the required transformations for reporting (ETL).
•  Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources, maintain databases/data systems, and apply ETL procedures to normalize data.
•  Gather information from business users to understand their detailed requirements and expectations, analyze business/use case requirements from BI analysts to determine operational problems, define data modelling requirements, gather and validate information, apply judgement and statistical tests and develop data structures to support the generation of business insights and strategy.

• Develop and maintain documentation/manuals on system configuration or set up, carry out technical user training as required to enable users interpret BI reports as well as deal with data, dashboards and report queries from users and resolve or advise them accordingly.

Ideal Job Specifications Academic:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science or related degree from a recognized university

Desired work experience:

•  Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Data engineering, BI & Software Development using Oracle, SAP, Microsoft • Strong knowledge and experience with ETL tools (SAP Data Services, Oracle ODI, Microsoft SSIS), query languages (Oracle PL/SQL, SQL), programming languages (Java, C# )
• Experience with relational data modeling, data management and data processing.
• Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages in analyzing large data sets (Python, Tableau, SPS, SAS, Excel etc.) will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of Big data tools (Hadoop, Apache Hive, Scala, Kafka, Apache Spark) will be an added advantage 
• Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques. 
• Working Experience with SAP Business Warehouse is highly desired. 
• Good knowledge of Windows Operating System and a fair knowledge of Unix & Linux.

Job Purpose Statement

The Data Scientist is responsible for creating solutions that enable enhanced business solutions whilst mitigating / minimizing credit risks, through the use of advanced statistical analysis, data mining, and data visualization techniques.
The Data Scientist also plays a leading role in the management of:

• Build econometric and statistical models for various problems inclusive of projections, classification, clustering, pattern analysis, sampling and simulations
• Build the foundation of state-of-the-art scientific and technical capabilities within the Credit Quality Assurance department in order to support several planned and ongoing data analytics projects.
• Provide forward-thinking recommendations to the business by building in-depth understanding of the problem domain and available business data assets, especially those pertaining to strategic initiatives and value-based programs Execute ad-hoc data mining and exploratory statistics tasks on large data-sets related to the business 'strategies.
• Generate actionable insights applying advanced statistical techniques, for example, predictive statistical models, segmentation analysis, customer profiling, analysis, survey design, and data mining
• Collaborate with senior data scientists to communicate obstacles and findings to relevant stakeholders in an effort to improve decision-making and drive business performance.
• Review of the IFRS 9 model to provide assurance on accuracy of model inputs & outputs, as well as adherence to the end to end data loading, modeling and provisioning process

Ideal Job Specifications Academic:

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Economics, or any other related quantitative field. Master’s degree or PhD in these fields is preferred. Professional: Big Data or Data Science certifications from recognized institutions

Desired work experience:

•  5+ years of professional experience in implementing full analytics pipeline (defining a business problem, data engineering, feature construction, modeling and implementation). Working with and maintaining open source data analysis platforms, including but not limited to: Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, Spark, HDFS, Kafka and other high volume data tools. Expertise in SQL and NoSQL storage tools, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, MongoDB and ElasticSearch.
• Previous Banking experience, particularly within the field of Credit Risk Management, with experience in IFRS 9 modelling and review

Job Purpose Statement

• This is a technical role that is responsible for the analysis, design, development and management (technical support) of the bank’s API platforms with all its integration points to the Core Banking System, Bank Channels, Partners and other Third-Party systems.

• The SAP Developer(BASIS) –will install, configure, and maintain SAP programs. Academic qualifications:
