    Data Management Assistant

    General Description

    • The Data management intern will work in the Data & Statistics Department closely with the Data & Statistics Manager to handle all kinds of Data related activities.

    Specific Responsibilities

    • Assist in data gathering;
    • Conduct relevant literature reviews to identify data sources, select relevant data, define variables and analytic methods;
    • Assist in performing and documenting procedures for data preparation including data cleaning and standardization;
    • Develop, manage, and improve databases;
    • Develop algorythms for analyzing and presenting data;
    • Detect and address issues in data and analytic results;
    • Assist in producing periodical reports;
    • Clearly communicate processes used and results achieved, suggest new and alternative approaches;
    • Support  the manager in the Distribution project;
    • Perform other duties reasonably related to the position as directed by manager.

    Other Responsibilities

    • Undertake any additional duties allocated by Management from time to time.
    • Assist other staff in their daily operations

    Qualifications

    • Knowledge of the aviation industry – Travel agency or airline (distribution);
    • Knowledge of the airlines distribution and settlement systems;
    • Knowledge of the main aviation metrics;
    • Strong problem solving skills;
    • Strong data management and analysis skills;
    • Knowledge of statistical techniques and concepts, experience using statistical computer languages;
    • Knowledge of machine learning techniques;
    • Coding knowledge and experience with coding languages;
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Education Officer

    Job Purpose:

    • Acting as ‘flag bearer’ for the Commission ensuring successful delivery of all Education and Community Engagement programmes and projects within the region reporting to the Heritage Manager. The successful candidate should have the right to work in Kenya and can travel within the country.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Supports the successful delivery of all education and community engagement programmes and events across the region
    • Proactively engages new audiences to CWGC cemeteries and memorials • Establishes key school contacts in the region
    • Locates suitable sites for visits by schools and other groups, offers guided tours and support materials to teachers, youth leaders, and local tourism guides
    • Attends key community events, including providing presentations to a variety of audiences
    • Actively promotes and develops local stakeholder relationships across the Education Community and Heritage Sector
    • Promotes the work of the CWGC in the region on social media
    • Identifies and pursues media opportunities and engages local media with the work of CWGC
    • Provides regular progress reports
    • Supports projects from other departments as required, particularly in relation to the Non-Commemoration Programme
    • Liaises closely with the Regional AAA Operations team to ensure they are fully engaged and consulted on education and community engagement initiatives
    • Works with Head of Education and Engagement to develop educational materials, programmes and activities for sites in Kenya.

    Qualifications and Requirements:

    • Must have an undergraduate or post graduate degree in Education or any Social Science, or relevant experience
    • Knowledge of the education or heritage sector
    • Practical experience of working in public engagement
    • Experience of working in schools or wider education
    • Knowledge of the curriculum in Kenya
    • Experience in a community engagement role
    • Demonstrated ability to motivate and work effectively with a wide range of people
    • Experience of public speaking
    • Experience of audience/visitor development activity
    • Must have a driving license.

    • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to engage all ages
    • Confidence and ability to positively engage audiences when giving presentations and talks to large and small groups
    • Confident with IT, including Word, Excel, Social Media and databases

    Travel Consultant

    Key Role Description:  

    • The jobholder is primarily responsible for engaging with clients to create travel itineraries and provide all the necessary arrangements for their safari experiences, conducting effective and efficient tour package sales, promoting and converting inquiries into booked tour business, following up on customer quotes assigned to you and progressing them to closure, while reporting progress, and ensuring the existing codes of business conduct in relation to client interaction and management are adhered to at all times.

    Minimum Experience and Competencies 

    • Prior experience in travel consulting or safari planning role preferred/Proven working   experience as a Travel Consultant.
    • Minimum Diploma in Tourism.
    • Excellent knowledge of traveling software (computer reservations systems, GDS systems and e-travel)
    • Proficiency in English; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage
    • Exemplary sales skills and a track record of reaching or exceeding sales targets.
    • Well-versed in various areas of travel (domestic/international, business/holidays, group/individual etc.)
    • Ability to present, persuade and communicate effectively
    • Added advantage to Candidates with personal travel experience.
    • Demonstrable ability to quickly address and solve problems as they arise.
    • Clear and persuasive verbal and written communication skills.
    • A team player who is enthusiastic about travel.
    • Exceptional customer service skills and a passion for helping clients create memorable

    Specific Responsibilities 

    • Client Consultations: Assess clients’ needs and preferences to deliver tailored safari travel advice.
    • Itinerary Planning: Craft detailed travel plans and itineraries that align with the clients’ interests, budget, and schedule
    • Booking and Reservations: Organize travels from beginning to end; handle bookings of safaris, accommodations, transportations, and activities. Ensure all services meet quality standards.
    • Client Communication: Maintain clear and active communication with clients before, during, and after their safari to ensure a seamless experience.
    • Vendor Coordination: Work with hotels, lodges, guides, and other service providers to confirm arrangements and negotiate favorable terms.
    • Travel Documentation: Assist clients in understanding and obtaining necessary travel documents such as visas, vaccinations, and travel insurance.
    • Issue Resolution: Promptly address any issues or complaints that may arise, offering solutions to maintain client satisfaction.
    • Product Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the safari industry, destinations, trends, and company offerings.
    • Sales and Marketing Support: Contribute to sales and marketing efforts to attract new clients, including social media engagement and attending travel shows.
    • Feedback Collection: Solicit client feedback to improve the service offering and address any areas of concern.
    • Product Development: Work with the product development team to develop and grow destinations, products and services to better attract customers and grow the business.

    NB – This role may involve flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate client time zones and travel schedules
