Role purpose

Support Country SBS Finance to secure a solid bedrock for finance activities.

Support Finance SBS to deliver high quality set of accounting data to facilitate group, statutory and tax reporting
- Support Finance SBS with delivering Finance SBS services (as defined in global policies and process standards) to local Business, with specific focus to statutory and local tax related processes
Accountabilities
Operational responsibility
-
Compile and analyse financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts.

Entering daily transactions to the existing accounting software in this case SAP.

Prepare & compute withholding taxes and other statutory deductions in accordance to the Law.

Prepare both bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
-
Maintain proper records for all tax returns which should be readily available and fully support all tax returns.

Timely submission of statutory returns and which need to be made on a monthly/quarterly and annual basis including VAT,WTAX, PAYE all in Itax, NHIF, NSSF,DIT,HELB etc.

Maintain and verify payroll records (for inconsistencies based on verification parameters like gross pay, advances, cost recoveries, bonus/OT).

Keeping track of Payroll Liability accounts including reconciling the same with the Payroll Officer.

System master data maintenance.

Preparation and participating in both the internal and statutory/external audit.

Perform intercompany reconciliations.

Budget preparation and cash flow statements and coming up and implementing internal control systems.

Maintain Accounts Payable records and verification of invoices before payments.

Prepare payments (including advances to staff) and inform suppliers about payments and

Reconciliation of accounts payables based on monthly statement

Ensure compliance with the several entities that we interact with and government entities.

Perform any other tasks as may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications
Knowledge, experience & capabilities
-
Accounting education, CPA Section 4 and 2 year accounting experience
-
University Degree in relevant Field
-
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high pressure environment

Demonstrated strong communication skills
- Ability to deliver against objectives, deadlines.

Deliver reliable local Finance services
-
Facilitate interaction between different service providers including considerable volume of services provided by 3rd party providers

Meet all group reporting requirements & deliver data on time and in full to meet tax & statutory reporting time tables

Good communication and relation with service provider & local stakeholders
-
Understanding of local Generally Accepted Accounting Policies
-
Good understanding of business end to end processes and internal controls necessary to safeguard the Company’s assets.

Local basic tax rules, statutory deductions, Withholding taxes, VAT
-
Good working knowledge of IFRS (and local Generally Accepted Accounting Policies)
