Credit Controller Job Responsibilities

• Ensure customer accounts are reconciled to system statements.
• Ensure allocation of payments is done.
• Timely and effective collection of all outstanding debt.
• Negotiate re-payment plans
• Maintain contact with clients
• Resolve queries both internally and externally around outstanding invoices
• Prepare weekly and monthly collection reports.
• Ensure customer credit limits and terms are maintained.
• Timely resolution of customer queries and disputes.
• Establish and maintain good client relationships, both internally and externally at all levels.

Qualifications for the Credit Controller Job

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce(Accounting option), or equivalent
• CPA II/ACCA II
• 5 years in experience 2 of which should have been spent in as similar position
• In depth knowledge of modern Credit Management Systems & Processes.
• Working Knowledge of Sage Pastel
• Proficiency in Ms-Office Applications, Excel and Accounting Software
• Ability to reconcile complex accounts and have excellent attention to detail.
• Professional mannerism in handling customers queries, complaints and disputes.
• Able to work under pressure, disciplined & high level of commitment to duty (able to work evenings)
• Able to travel 30% of the time
• Very strong personality and organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Unquestionable level of integrity.
