Political Advisor Job Responsibilities

• Providing political direction to the Governor;
• Monitoring political trends both in the county and at the national level and advice the Governor accordingly;
• Ensuring separation of powers between the Office of the Governor, County Assembly and other offices in the County;
• Promoting national unity, peace and stability in the County;
• Conducting socio-political research to advice on policy;
• Monitoring and evaluating political trends in the County;
• Appraising the Governor on matters of political interest; and
• Assisting to develop procedures and strategies for addressing issues of political interest; and
• Participating in the preparation of campaign and policy positions and papers as directed by the Governor.

Qualifications for the Political Advisor Job

• Be a Kenyan citizen.
• Be a holder of at least a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science or Public Administration from a university recognized in Kenya.
• KCSE Grade C+ and above.
• Have knowledge, experience and a distinguished career of not less than 10 years in a political related field.
• Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya (2010) on leadership and integrity.
