The program This is a position in the Indo-African Dengue project on pathogen sequencing, whose station is at the KAVI-Institute of Clinical Research, College of Health Sciences.
The position The position is based in Nairobi and is tenable on one year contract, renewable on mutual agreement.
Qualifications: Applicants must have a Bachelors degree in medical or biological sciences and a Masters or PhD degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or a related field. They should also have skills to perform bioinformatics analysis. Those with skills in performing wet-lab assays and preparation of manuscripts will have added advantage.
Key responsibilities:
Coordinating with clinicians and laboratory technologists for samples; collaboration in new research; design and implement bioinformatics data analysis pipeline for viruses and bacteria pathogens; analysis of next-generation genome sequencing data; and be technical point of contact person for the project at KAVI-ICR and NCBS, India.
